A real big job. Completely remove all covers, doc feeder asm. Best to let a qualified tech do it for you. I charge $50.00 plus parts and will allow you to watch me do it. But i am in Florida.

Recieve the fax and print the pages well. But, when I send the fax to other fax it prints two black lines on the right side.

Hello,

The problem should be from the printer fuser assembly, the other party will need to replace there fuser assembly on there printer, once that is done, the problem should be fix.

Take care.

Brother Fax 4100 ''error code 71'' Started smoking, then stopped

Error 71 normally indicates a laser fault, but the smoke may be an additional fault such as the fuser or the power supply. The cost of the machine repair could be more then it's worth 8(.

Rebuilding the brother fuser for the intellifax 4100

Although it fit the broken fuser, it does not mean it's ok.
1-they must have the same number of teeth ( diif. gears have diff. amounts of teeth)
2-it must be the same diameter ( so they can mesh together, otherwise it's touching the tip of hte teeth and may be skipping.

But I'm not sure the double image is coming from there, it would jam the paper because the timing is off.
Anyway you need to eliminate the obvious then see what happens, I think you said you had another tonertry putting that in, if it doesn't work then change the gear for the correct one.

Intellifax 4100 grinding noice

Probably caused by the toner cart. Only use genuine new Brother brand supplies. Remans fail quite often with Brother machines.
Possibly bad gears on fuser drive. But with the poor print quality, I suspect it is the toner.
