Hi, if you are talking about a split system with a condenser outdoors and a indoor unit, then yes they do work together. When you say you replaced the fuses, are they the fuses at the box that you should have by the outdoor condenser? You should have a electrical box there with 2- cartridge type fuses inside, may be hidden behind plastic cover. When you turn on the thermostat, does the indoor unit blow air but just warm air? If so, the problem may be the thermostat, but more then likely, its in the outdoor unit. Try and locate the breaker for the a/c unit to see if it tripped. If so, reset it and see if it works. If this is not the problem, go to the Amana heater and remove a panel to locate the circuit board. There should be a 3 to 5 amp plug in fuse, looks like a automotive type fuse. See if it has blown. If your not sure, replace it.Make sure you get the panel back on correctly. Check all of these places I have asked you and let me know what is going on. Make sure the thermostat is set for cooling and the temperature is lowered. Please don't forget to rate me on this as I know you will be kind. Please get back to me if you are still having this problem, and explain in more detail what is going on, if its just the outdoor unit and so on.
Sincerely,

Amana dryer not heating, replaced Thermal Cut off, High limit thermostat and Thermal Fuse, and new breakers in fuse panel

Hello, Before you replaced all those parts did you check each with a multimeter by performing an ohms test or measuring for continuity? By doing this it would tell if any of the parts that you had replaced were at fault. You can also conduct the same test on the heater as well. when performing any ohms or continuity test make sure the unit is unplugged and that you also unplug the part as well from the wires that are connected to it. I await your reply if you have any other questions. Thank you

My Amana AAC101SRA doesn't cool like it used to. We have cleaned the filter, but that doesn't seem to help. Should we call a repairman or think about getting another unit?

Is the outdoor coil blocked? Is the outdoor coil clean? Is the compressor running when you start unit. When you turn unit off after running it can you hear a hissing sound from within?

Hello
There could be a few problems.First the compressor is heating up and causing it to pull high amps and triping the breaker.THis could be caused by low freon or low oil.
Possibly a restriction in the freon lines to and from the unit. These are some things a repairman should be looking for.

You can clean the outside unit, fins and coils with a degreaser and a water hose and see if this helps.

My central air unit has stopped working. The outdoor fuses were blown and we replaced them but it still wont turn on

If the outdoor fuses blew, it is usually for a reason.. There may be an electrical failure in the unit itself which caused this. Most AC units have fuses in the indoor unit as well, but I would suggest getting a Tech to trace the reason the fuses blew in the first instance. Replacing blown fuses sometimes works but a lot of thime, more damge is caused to the unit. You usually know this when the unit goes "bang" and the fuses blow again when turned on...

My amana window unit blew a fuse in my fuse box I replace it now thw window unit won't come on

Candy, if the fuse blew in the first place, it was either overloaded or the AC unit has an electrical short in it. However, it may not come on now, without turning the Master Switch on the AC unit OFF and unplugging it from the outlet. Wait 10 minutes before plugging it back in. Then turn the unit ON. If it functions properly then the problem is solved. If not, the circuit board in the unit has been fried and will have to be replaced. Also, be sure that only the AC is plugged in to this receptacle. More than one will overload the fuse/circuit.

Hope this information helped you. Please rate my reply.

Amana side by side refrigerator not cooling freezer element all froze up fans are working

You have bad defrost timer or bad heaters. Most of the time the problem is heaters. You have to completly thaw unit and install the heater. You may need a service tech for that but get model and serial numbers. Go to appliace sore and buy the parts yourself. Save you some money.
