Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5100 All-In-One Printer

I have just purchased an new computer and am running windows7 on a 64bit machine. I have tried several times to install the Kodak software from the disk provided with my printer which worked OK on my last PC running windows xp. I am continually getting error messages "Printer driver host for 32 bit application has stopprd working" whenever I open an office application. Can you help please?

32 bit and 64 bit drivers are not compatible. So for 64 bit operational system you have to install 64 bit drivers for your Kodak Easyshare 5100. I found link for you:

I am strongly suggesting uninstall everything what are you installed ignoring warnings about incopatibility before installing proper drivers! Good luck! :-)

Make sure that the printer is connected to your computer and you have the home center software installed on your system. Try to install the latest version of Printer software from www.kodak.com/go/downloads on your computer. then open the kodak home center software and click on scan pictures. Adjust the settings and you are ready to go. download the user manual from www.kodak.com/go/manuals.

Try reinstalling the software from the web at this site

Several months ago I received an email from Kodak recommending that I install an update to the driver for my ESP3 printer so I did only to find that there were some incompatibility problems which I worked...


download the software and then run it as administrator. before thet go to www.kodak.com/go/clear and download clear utility for kodak aio software and then run it. what it will do is remove all the files and folders of previous kodak software.. then install vista version from internet and run it as administrator.ur issue will be resolved

Upgarding kodak easyshare software keep coming back with error


check your computer specification.. check if your computer meets the requirement for new easyshare updates or easyshare versions.. you can check the required computer specification on the download page of the easyshare.. i have easyshare at home and i check the requirements for the software, no problem with the upgrade.. check also your security settings, sometimes the security on the computer does not allow you to do the update..

Can't install, fails every time.


had this same problem, go to Add and Remove Programs and uninstall "Bonjour" and then run the Kodak Setup and it will reinstall it.

Home Center will not open...Can't scan


I'm not sure if you tried this but download the clear utility from kodak here: http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/downloads/private/xp_vista_98_ClearUtility.jhtml?osXPor98=winXP
You will need to click start, go to control panel, click add/remove programs, uninstall the kodak home center, unhook the printer from computer, then run the clear kodak utility. Try then to reinstall after. I always install the drivers before the software by plugging the printer into the computer and running the hardware wizard in XP and pointing it to the drivers on the cd then I install the software after. try doing this procedure to fix the issue.....


To perform a clean installation of the KODAK AiO Home Center software, follow the instructions below:

1. Disconnect all USB devices from the computer, including the Kodak EasyShare all-in-one printer.

2. Uninstall the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software:
    a. In the Control Panel, select Add or Remove Programs (WINDOWS XP Operating Systems) or Program and Features (WINDOWS VISTA Operating Systems).
    b. Select one of the following software programs from the list of currently installed programs, depending on which one appears in your list:
      • Kodak EasyShare software
      • KODAK All-in-One Printer Software
      • Kodak EasyShare 5000 series all-in-one software
    c. Click Change or Remove (WINDOWS XP OS) or Uninstall (WINDOWS VISTA OS).
    d. When the Install Wizard appears, click Next.
    e. Depending on the issue(s) you are experiencing, do the following:
      • If you are experiencing errors with KODAK EASYSHARE Software, such as a tri-code, in addition to errors with KODAK All-in-One Printer Home Center Software, select Remove, click Next, and follow the on-screen instructions for removing the software.
      • If you are not experiencing errors with KODAK EASYSHARE Software, select Modify to uninstall only KODAK All-in-One Printer Home Center Software, then click Next.
    f. In the Custom Setup window, select Remove from the drop-down menu for the Kodak All-in-One Printer, and click Next.
    g. In the Ready to remove the program window, click Next.
    h. In the Uninstall Complete window, click Continue.
    i. Restart the computer.
IMPORTANT:
    • If you selected Modify and only uninstalled the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software and did not uninstall the KODAK EASYSHARE Software, continue to Step 4.
    • If you selected Remove and uninstalled both the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software and KODAK EASYSHARE Software, continue with Step 3.

3. Run the Clear Utility to delete any previously installed KODAK All-in-One Printer Software components:
    1. Got to www.kodak.com/go/clear to download the Clear Utility for KODAK EASYSHARE Software.
    2. Select your operating system from the drop-down list and click the Download button to save the file to your desktop.
      Note: If the status indicator on the Clear Utility stops, check the taskbar on your computer for an active security program. If a security program appears in the taskbar, it may be prohibiting the Clear Utility from running. You must allow the Clear Utility to run on your computer before you can continue.

4. Delete the files and folders that can interfere with the installation.
    For WINDOWS XP OS, delete:
      • Printer folder in C:\Program Files\Kodak
      • Both the Eastman Kodak Company and KDS_Kodak folders in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data
      • Kodak 5000 Series AiO folder in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kodak
      • Printer folder in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kodak\EasyShareSetup

    For WINDOWS VISTA OS, delete:
      • Printer folder in C:\Program Files\Kodak
      • Eastman Kodak Company folder in C:\ProgramData
      • Eastman Kodak Company folder(s) in C:\Users\your name\AppData\Local
5. Run Disk Cleanup:
    1. Open My Computer.
    2. Right-click Local Disk (C:) and select Properties.
    3. Click the Disk Cleanup button.
    4. When the Disk Cleanup for (C:) window appears, select the Temporary Internet Files, Recycle Bin, and Temporary Files check boxes.
    5. Click OK , then click Yes to delete all files and begin the Disk Cleanup.
    6. When the Disk Cleanup is finished, click OK in the Local Disk (C:) Properties window.

6. Shut down all background applications.
    1. Select Start > Run.
    2. Type msconfig in the Open field, and click OK.
    3. Select the Startup tab.
      IMPORTANT: If not all the applications in the Startup Items list are selected, write down which applications are selected so you know which ones to turn on again later.
    4. Click Disable All , then click OK .
    5. When prompted, restart the computer.

7. After the computer restarts, install the latest version of the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software as a free download from the Kodak Web site at www.kodak.com/go/downloads.
    • If the customer has the latest version of the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software on CD, install the software from the CD.

8. Before restarting the computer again, turn on the background applications.
    1. Select Start > Run.
    2. Type msconfig in the Open field and click OK.
    3. Select the Startup tab.
    4. Under Startup Items:
      - If only some items were originally selected, select the check box in front of the items that you noted in Step 5-c.
      - If all background items were originally selected, click Enable All, and click OK.

9. Restart the computer.

2 Problems: 1) Unable to get printer to print from desktop; 2) Kodak SW won't install on laptop


Download and install the new software and printer firmware from kodak.com (link below - firmware and software is the same for all the 5000 units). Do not use the CD, and Uninstall all previous versions before installing the new software you download from the site.

Cannot install Kodak Easyshare 5300 aio software and home center


are you by chance using an Apple Computer which also has Safari?

If so, you may have a register or .dll problem. Get to your location to type in the cmd prompt. (Either on start, run or windows button + r) once you have typed the cmd prompt, type "regsvr32vbscript.dll" and hit the enter key. ignore any error codes and this may clear any problems.

Connection Problem


I have a Kodak DX4330 and to my knowledge, do you remember if your dock or usb that you plug the camera into was plugged in when you installed the software? I think that if you have it plugged in and install the software and then try and transfer the images, it doesn't work. You can try to re-install the software and make sure the camera dock/cable isn't plugged in and if that doesn't work, make sure the little kodak symbol on the start taskbar is visible when you press the share button. i hope that this helps you.
