Question about Kenmore Dryers
The first thing to do is unplug the dryer. Inspect the vent hose for obstructions.
Then remove the rear cover and look at the element.
If the element is ok then check the safety's mounted on the heater chamber. If all of the safetys and control stats are ok you may have a bad timer. The timer has a fat red wire connected to one terminal. Remove that wire and clamp a lead from an ohm meter there. Check for continuity between that point and other legs of the timer. Turn the timer knob. You might think you have power to the element but it requires 240 volts. These dryers are worth the trouble and time to repair them.
