The zoom rocker assembly can be replaced fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

Canon fs100 zooms in by its self while i am videoing.i have to hold zoom toggle to zoom out position to stop it zooming in by its self

This is most likely a defective zoom rocker switch assembly. This will require major disassembly to repair and can usually be done fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My fugi camerea is saying zoom error..any idea on what this means

This means your zoom mechanism has jammed and will need to be stripped down and reset if it doesn't clear itself. some times it will clear all by it's self but depends on what is causing the problem.
I have just repaired the exact same thing on my S1000fd and it took several hours. The zoom lens had been pushed in and had jammed.
Unless you have knowledge of digital lenses I wouldn't recomend trying to fix this your self as the layout inside this model means you have to stip every thing out to get at it.

How do I activate digital zoom on my canon S3IS

I believe there is a ring around the button the shutter button (the button you press to take the photos. Your sort of push it left or right (near or far). The digital zoom should activate after it goes past its optical zoom range. Push it only slightly to slow down the zoom process.

Does camera have timer

Putting Yourself in the Picture The Self Timer creates a 10-second delay between the time you press the Shutter button and the time the picture is taken. 1 Place the camera on a flat surface or use a tripod. 2 In any Still mode, press the Self Timer button. The Self Timer icon appears in the status area. 3 Compose the scene. Then press the Shutter button half-way and hold to set the exposure and focus, then press the rest of the way down. Move so that you are in the scene. The Self Timer light blinks slowly for 8 seconds (then quickly for 2 seconds) before the picture is taken. The camera "clicks" when the picture is captured. To turn off the shutter sound, see page 64. The Self Timer turns off after you take the picture or if you change modes. To cancel the Self Timer before the picture is taken, press the Self Timer button. (The Self Timer setting remains active.) To turn off the Self Timer, press the Self Timer button twice.

Zooming

The only way to use zoom feature is turn on ur camera, hit settings when its on and you will see a bunch of cam settings. In the top row select resolution and change the size from 1600*1200 to 640*480 or 320*240. Now hit ok and you will see the zoom feature on the camera.
