Question about Canon PowerShot SD750 / IXUS 75 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Downloading pictures from Canon Ixus to PC are being duplicated.

Help!

This did not happen before - so I must have accidently adjusted a setting or something -but I cannot figure out what it is.

If I take a pictures today and download them from camera to PC via Zoombrowser, I find that all the pictures that I have previously dowloaded are downloaded again. So I end up with a massive amount of duplicated downloaded pictures.

Then if I take more pictures on another day and download those then I end up with triplicates of all the previous downloads.

Obviously I only want to download pictures not previously downloaded, which is what used to happen automatically. Can you plse tell me how to re-set the download so I don't get repeated downloads??

Very much appreciated.

Thanks

Jaime A.

I can't get my SD750 to download my pictures to my PC. I have hooked my camera to the computer, turned the camera on and nothing happens. I don't get a menu, I press menu and nothing happens. Do I have to change something on the camera?

    Thanks for any help,

Hi Jaime, I used to have Zoombrowser and I know the setting you need to change, but please excuse me if my directions to it are not exact because I haven't used it for a while.

From memory the setting to fix this problem is in the Download Settings (or something similar to that), which you access from one of the menus in the top bar (it is in one of the drop down menus towards the right of the screen, ie, at the other end of the bar from the File menu).

In the Download Settings have a look around and you should be able to find somewhere that says "Download All", "Download New images Only" - select that you want to download news images only.

Sorry I can't be more specific as to where the setting is exactly, but it's been a while since I used Zoombrowser. The other option you have is to copy the files you want manually: Connect your camera as per normal to your computer, go to My Computer where the camera will be showing up as an external drive (eg, E or F and so on), double click this icon and browse to your image files. Then sort by Date and copy the ones you have taken since you last downloaded.

Let me know if you need more help.

How can I get the date to appear on my pictures for downloading ?Canon ixus 75

On my Ixus 70, I can only "embed" the date on pictures when "Postcard Mode" is selected. Press "Func/Set", go down to the bottom icon on the left (sets picture size) then go right to "Postcard" (looks like mountains, will say Postcard when selected) then press Func/set button again. Now press "Menu", scroll down to "Date stamp" and set it to "Date" and press "Menu" button again.

Once embedded, the date cannot be removed later.

I have a Canon Ixus 700 with a 2GB SD card. I dont know why, but sometimes after I take a picture it deletes the previous ones. For instance, I have taken 20 pictures, everything ok, when I take the 21st...

Have you ever connected the camera to your computer for downloading and then disconnected it without using the "safely remove hardware" function? If so, you could have corrupted the camera. Try going into the menu and find "reset" to get back to factory default settings. Also, have you ever tried using a separate card reader for downloads? It's easier and faster and it's entirely possible that your missing pics will show up. fa1b737.jpg

You probably can't. The best solution is to get a separate card reader and download to a folder you create on your desktop.

what program are you using to get the files off of the camera?

I would suggest going to Canon site and downloading up to date software for the camera here...

http://software.canon-europe.com/

select your model of camera, follow directions.

Please let me know if this does not resolve your issue.

Canon UXUS i pc 1060 pictures bleached white

Hi,

I've got the same problem.

Happened just two months ago. I was outside taking pictures by a campfire, so I wonder if the smoke had something to do with it.

Movie mode is fine, but regular photos are either all white or with strange horizontal lines, not clear at all.

I'm going to open it up and reseat all the connections.

Anything else to try?

Anyone else have this problem or know what to do?

Accentuating colour

If you have PhotoShop,
1. Go to Image and duplicate your photo
2. Go to Image, Adjustments, Hue & Saturation. Make a few changes and watch the preview till the image appeals to you.

This works for me and my Ixus. Other imageware may work similarly
