Question about Toshiba Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Microsoft Office 2003 came with my computer. I had to restore my hard drive because it crashed. Now it won't let me get into Word. I typed my product key that is on my certificate of authentication, and yet it still won't let me use it. It says it's an "invalid product key."

MS Office is not a free program.
Youwill need to purchase a copy of MS Office to get the product installation key.
For an alternative free program, OPEN OFFICE is a full-featured officesuite that's compatible with Microsoft Office.
If you want Open Office you can download this free program. Click on this link to download :-

Need an activation key for Offce 2003.

Your product key probably doesn't work because Microsoft only gives you a certain number of licenses when you buy Office, and you've probably used them up. (It's usually either 1 or 3.)

Call Microsoft's tech support line and tell them what happened, maybe they will reset your license so you can reactivate Office. Otherwise, you'll have to buy another license. (You can do that from Microsoft.com.)

How do i retrieve my back up disk after a complete crash and restore, I have lost all my files and microsoft office which holds all my contact and invoice info. The disk created at the time will not boot...

Will the computer start and boot up at all? You said you did a restore.

If it will, you may be able to insert your backup disk after the computer boots and use Windows Explorer to view and copy your files back on to the hard drive.

If the computer won't boot, you can reinstall Windows and after it boots then try to use Windows Explorer to see if you can retrieve the files.

Computer crashed, need prduct key for office home and student 2007

It should be located on the cd cover that came with the office program.
If you want an illegal copy, you will need to go to a hack site.

I downloaded the microsoft office word 2003 on to my computer online, and now it's asking for the product key. Don't have this information. Need it ASAP!!!!

Generally, if you downloaded this online directly from Microsoft, this would be the "Office Test Drive" and they would have e-mailed you a Product Key when you register for the test drive. however since it is Office 2003 it most likely (I'd stake my career on it) a pirated copy you got off of P2P sharing. In which case the only option you legally have is to go through the "activation" process and purchase a product key when it fails... or get an illegal key generator. I usually do not recommend and cannot oblige to use pirated software, as you will often be infected by malware that can stow away in the packages.

Hard drive crashed

Hi, a restore disk uses data that is stored in a hidden partition on the original drive so when you replaced the hard drive with a new one, it will not have this hidden partition. You will need to either buy a new operating system, or contact your manufacturer/supplier to see what they can do, they may format the new drive with a hidden partition like your original depending how 'nice' they are. Only other thing you can do, is get hold of an original operating system disk from somewhere if you have a COA, (certificate of authenticity) on the computer, contact Microsoft and they should be able to replace your COA serial key with a new one that will work.

If any of this needs clarifying, or you have any other questions. Please let me know! Hope this helps :) Si
