Question about Computers & Internet

I have an HP 1022 laser jet printer that won't feed paper. It will do labels and envelopes but it won't feed regular paper. I've pulled the print cartridge and don't find any stuck paper back there. I've gotten down and looked into the paper holder after I send of regular paper print job. I see 3 "arms" or whatever they're called come up as though feeding paper but they aren't picking up any paper. As best I can tell, the paper is loaded as far into its tray as usual. HELP! BobM

It sounds like the tray itself may be the problem, does the paper actually touch those 3 arms / rollers that come down? It is either the feed mechanism or the tray itself, either way it's not looking good for regular printing with this machine. The good news is a replacement printer can be had for well under $50 nowadays, and you can still use this one for envelopes and labels. I would recommend you get a replacement... actually it looks like I have you in a chat here... will talk to you there

What is thbest hp printer for printing envelopes.

The best way to deal with envelopes is to either get a label printer like a Brother, or get laser safe window envelopes. Envelopes cause many problems and if you are going to print a large number of them you will wear out the fuser prematurely because the outer edges of the fuser will overheat feeding the narrower paper.

I can't get anything to print from tray 1, the manual feed. I'm trying to print envelopes and they keep printing on 8.5x11 paper from tray 2. If I put envelopes in tray 2 it won't print

Have you already tried this? After you click print and select your printer, click properites and select your paper from 8.5x11 to Envelope.

Each time I try to print envelopes on the HP Color Laser Jet CP3505x printer, I am gettig a Fuser 50.2 error message

It's unfortunate Janice but your fuser cannot get hot enough to print on an envelope and the only thing you can do is buy another fuser... sounds like the fuser is still able to heat up enough for regular prints on regular paper so you may want to keep it around for a spare but companies usually sell cheaper when you have a core to return to them... How to load evelopes HL 2140

Brother Hl 2140 Printing on thick paper, labels and envelopes 2
When the back output tray is pulled down, the printer has a straight paper path from the manual feed slot through to the back of the printer. Use this paper feed and output method when you want to print on thick paper, labels or envelopes.

Open the back cover

Open the manual feed slot cover.

Using both hands, slide the manual feed slot paper guides to the width of the paper that you are going to use.

Using both hands, put one piece of paper or one envelope in the manual feed slot until the front edge of the paper or envelope touches the paper feed roller. When you feel the machine pull in the paper, let go.

• Put the paper into the manual feed slot with the side to be printed face up.
• Make sure that the paper or envelope is straight and in the proper position on the manual feed slot. If it is not, the paper or the envelope may not be fed properly, resulting in a skewed printout or a paper jam.
• Do not put more than one piece of paper in the manual feed slot at any one time, as it may cause a jam.
• If you put any Media (paper, envelope and so on) in the manual feed slot before the printer is in the Ready state, the media may be ejected without being printed on.

My hp J4680 won't feed envelopes, the envelopes goes part of the way in and then fails to print

Hi

The envelopes are standard in size hence do not use any odd sizes. And also do remember that you make the required alignment and also the feeding directions and positions. If you print in Landscape then the paper is too short for the printer to pick. Hence use Portrait so your printer can sense the presence of the envelope

HP Laser Jet P2035 is not printing the "from address" on envelops and even the "to address" is not being printed on the right spot. The envelope size, tray and feed mechanism are...

The easy way to diagnose this is to put a regular piece of paper in and print the envelope on that to see where it is actually printing. This is likely a wrong envelop size selected in your software not a problem with the printer. It is only reproducing what it is told to. Also make sure that the paper options in the print driver reflect the correct settings for size of paper.

Hello I have an HP 2600n and would like to print on 5x7 paper, is this a possibility with this printer? it seems that it will pull the paper through but nothing is printed

Copied this from the specification on HP site.

It would appear not to take 5 x 7. It's the 7" is to small, 8.5 is the smallest.

Media sizes, std.
Letter, legal, executive, No. 10 envelopes, Monarch envelopes
Media sizes, custom
Tray 1, 2, 3: 3 x 5 to 8.5 x 14 in
Media types
Paper (plain, letterhead, prepunched, bond, color, rough, preprinted, recycled), HP Color Laser Glossy Photo Paper, HP Color Laser Glossy Brochure Paper, HP Color Laser Matte Brochure Paper, HP Color Laser Matte Photo & Imaging Paper, HP Color Laser Soft Gloss Presentation Paper, HP color laser transparencies, labels, envelopes, cardstock

Printing problems - i can only print manual feed...

the manual tray is the is the one above the tray,
1-either your tray is set incorrectly must be set to Letter/Plain
priority is tray 2 not tray 1
tray one is the by-pass / manual
since this printer does not have a screen on it everything is setup through the PC.
print a configuration page and you will see all the settings

I have a hp 2849 all in one printer. When I print envelopes they print blank.

When you print an envelope, let the printer print on a regular sheet of paper to see if it's printing in an area not in line with the envelope.

This example is from Open Office. Microsoft is pretty much the same. What this is showing is the position of the envelop feeder so you know which one to select so that it can print correctly. The software must be set up correctly. The arrows show the path of the paper feed.

To find this in Office, click on TOOLS, LETTERS AND MAILINGS, ENVELOPES AND LABELS.

Click on the envelope in the FEED box.

This window will show the feed position of the envelope using an 8x11 as a point of reference.

Paper feed on Canon i 350n ink jet printer

If the paper is lodged too far into the printer and can't be removed:
Press the power button to turn the printer off.
Pull firmly on the paper to remove it. If you can't reach the paper because it is too far in, raise the front cover and remove the paper from the front of the printer.
Close the front cover.
Press the power button to turn the printer back on.
Resend your document to print.

Ensure that:
The paper is a recommended paper for inkjet printers.
You do not force the paper down into the printer when you load it. For example, if you are loading letter or A4 size paper, the top edge of the paper should extend above the top of the sheet feeder.
The printer is on a flat, level surface.
The left paper guide is against the side of the paper.
You do not load too much paper in the sheet feeder. Depending on the thickness of your paper, the sheet feeder can hold up to 100 sheets of paper.
The left paper guide does not cause the paper to bend in the sheet feeder.
Your printer feeds regular paper as expected. If regular paper feeds without causing problems, load the envelopes vertically against the right side of the sheet feeder. Make sure the paper guide is against the side of the envelopes.
Envelopes or the appropriate specialty papers are selected in the printer driver.
You are using a paper or envelope size supported by your printer.
