Dvd player isn't working properly

Hi,

The most common issue associated with this is the incorrect placement of the wiring with reference to the input on the tv. Simply put, ensure that the colours of the cables are the same with the points in the tv or monitor that you're putting them into.

Good luck, if you need more assistance let me know

Playing movies in the DVD player is jerky, is it software problem?

Yes, it is a software problem -- your computer is either "too slow" or "too busy" to _simultaneously_ run all the software that you want to run.

Close all web-browser windows.
Close any file-sharing programs (uTorrent, Napster).
Close all applications (Microsoft Word).

Now, your computer will have more "resources" available to run the DVD-player software, without the "jerky" effects.

Toshiba Media test failure, operating system not found error

That message means it is not reading a drive. Most likely the HDD. I would suggest you replace the HDD. That is likely the problem.

No dvd playback

try downloading a fresh copy of whatever it was that you used to view dvd's such as POWER DVD or whatever the encoder was that you used to use. If you used Microsoft Windows to watch DVD's it's possible the drivers are corrupted, try installing a copy of power dvd and then also a copy of fddshow.exe

Audio and video issues when trying to play a dvd

Im not an expert on this, but it sounds like a codex problem and you need updated codex software. You can get free stuff off the web but I wouldnt know where to look. Another option is to download another DVD player program to play the DVD instead of using WIndows Media. There are some free ones on the web, but I'd recommend spending 20 bucks or so on one so you dont get loaded down with adware.
