SOURCE: How do I change the

I'm assuming the slide switch on the side of the card is in the correct position. If so, you could format the card in the camera...this will erase everything on the card and overwrite the "protected card" lock-out.

As it was the camera that put the protection on ..You need to put the card into the camera..And ..UN-TICK each one to unprotect them...The idea of the protected photos is so you cant erase them when you format the card.

What is protected card mean

Your memory card has a switch that prevents its contents from being erased or not allow new pictures to be saved onto it. Change the position of the switch to unprotected.

How do I unprotect a memory card for the fujifilm fine pix 55? I now can't use my camera

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

I dont know how to delete a protected picture off my canon power shot a470 camera. Can you help?

You have to unprotect it first. It's a bit confusing because the menu item probably only says "Protect..." but it also takes care of unprotecting too. Go into the menu for "Protect..." and navigate to the protected one. Whatever button you press to switch the protected status (it's the SET button on my Canon) you can use it to turn the protection off as well. When you exit the protection mode, you can delete it.

I cant delete file protected photos on my camera Cybershot dsc-s750

Please unprotect the images and try to delete the files. I have attached the Manual of the Camera where you can get the instructions to unprotect the images.

http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DSCS750_handbook.pdf

Please refer to page # 43 of the above Manual to unprotect the images.

I had this same problem and as the **** above suggested I read the manual. The problem is not in the camera it was on the memory card. There is a little (yellow in my case) slide button on the side of the memory card itself that you can slide to "Lock". Mine was inadvertantly in the Lock position, once I slid it out of the lock position, the "Card Protected" error no longer occurred on my Fujifilm FinePix Z.
