Question about HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One InkJet Printer
This indicates a sensor malfunction on the printer. Have you tried unplugging the printer from the power source for a good 3 minutes, then plugging it back in? If it still doesn't clear it, you may need to find the warranty info on this printer, if you think it may still be under warranty. If you happened to purchase the printer with a major credit card (not
a debit card) there is a good chance it may still be under the free
extended warranty most credit cards place on electronics. Please
contact your credit card company to inquire if they do this, and they
will be able to file the claim and get you a refund for the printer.
Otherwise it may be time to get a new printer unfortunately... luckily an all-in-one printer is pretty inexpensive nowadays, for example this canon is in my opinion much better than that HP, and are known to have fewer issues like these, and is just $79 with free shipping and no tax:
