Hello,
The foam is molded, you can not remold / repair
If it is a small tear you can repair with a bit of rubber cement. Eventuly it will fail and more will tear causing the sub to sound very bad

Call an authorized JL dealer and have them order it from JL. The cost for the first generation W7 13 o-ring and clamp(sold as a set) is $48. The newer AE version (which is the same just different finish) cost $69. SKU # 90242(1st gen) / SKU # 90213(2nd gen)

I have a mirage ps12 180 subwoofer and the convex ring around the cone (feels like foam) has a tear in it. Can I use the Elmer's glue and tissue paper procedure to fix it?

Hi,
Do not use any glues over the foam, it makes the foam get harder and probality of further damage leading speaker replacement. If you have a masking paper tape try to stick on torn area atleast to avoid further damage. But, all this attempts will give a loss on speaker's audio response. If you are not a big audio phile , you can manage doing it.

The foam surround on my subs are cracked and torn. I need them repaired. Would it be more ideal to buy new subs or get these w7's repaired?

wow i won't throw them away or anything like that. You can always go down to your local JL Audio dealer to see how much to refoam the subs. Lot cheaper then buy new ones..... That's the way i would go.. Hope this was helpfull

I have a kicker 05cvr122 and the rubber around the outside got punctured how could i get that fixed?

The foam suspension often goes bad and turns to powder with age. There are kits to REPLACE the suspension but it requires some skill to do it. Often the center dome must be removed to allow shimmming the voice coil for centering while replacing the suspension foam. If you are not skilled in this, best take it to a speaker reconing service. Most pro speakers do NOT use the foam, but a fabric flex material.

My 13w7 pops loudly when i turn it up. it is in a 2 cu ft sealed box. what do i set my amp at to fix this? the amp is a 1000/1 jl

If your Subwoofer is popping it could possibly be blown. when your radio is off slightly push in on your speaker if it kinda crackles it is blown. If you are using a sealed box put it in the middle of the box. if it is ported it needs to be on the opposite side from the port

I used this stuff to repair a tear in the rubber surround on a kicker solobaric 10", it has held up for 10 years, seal the front and back if possible and allow to dry/cure completely. good luck :)

Speaker cone is rip

that sucks. Expensive sub. If its under warranty go that route.

If its not under warranty, you can repair it with epoxy.

Go to Lowe's and get a 2 part epoxy. Mix it and seal up the crack with the epoxy. Put it on thick because the sub is going to vibrate it like mad and it needs to hold up.
