Question about Computers & Internet
NTFS Read/Write Bootdisk And Bootable CDs
I bought this iso file from here. He charges $4 which is a bargain for this tool. Download the ISO on a working PC with a cd burner and create the boot disk. Boot the problem PC from the CD rom and run chkdsk from the black dos screen.
If this does not fix the problem then open the access door to the hard drive on the bottom of the laptop and find the make and model of the hard drive. Go to the hard drive manufactures web site and download a bootable ISO with the diagnostic utilities for the hard drive. This will tell you if it is fixable. Are you still under warranty? The laptop maker's web site may have a diagnostic tool you can download as well. This will give you a code which the manufacturer's help desk will need to authorize a replacement Hard drive. Other wise find a replacement drive from ebay or other suppler.
