Question about Samsung Digimax S730 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I just bought an SD card and put it in....I get an "Error" message. I asked a rep at Wal-Mart what she thought it could be. She said that the card was too big. I'm not sure what she meant by that.I bought the same type of card that was in it. It was also giving me the "Error" message with the prior card.

Your camera is able to take SD cards up to 2gb and SDHC cards up to 4GB. The error message may just be that the camera needs you to format the card in the camera.

What sd card do you use?

SD cards can be purchased at any store that sells digital cameras, computers, or electronics.
Wal-mart
Dollar-General
Radio-Shack
K-Mart
Wall-Greens

Just a few that will sell SD cards.

Any brand is fine unless specified in your users manual.

Please help,desperate now!!

go to Wal-Mart or K-Mart and such, you can get a SD reader/ writer (such as Targus, what I use) and put your SD card into it, then plug into USB (USB 2.0 is current standard, but will work with USB 1.1, just slower). PC will ask if you want to play/ record from/to the removable drive, select "take no action" then double click the drive letter (E,F,G etc.). open the file folder that you want to put on your photo frame (I STRONGLY recommend that you COPY FILE(S) and NOT "move file(s)" as that if something crashes you still HAVE the orig. files) select to copy to the correct drive letter and PLEASE remember to "remove hardware safely" or you could KILL the files and or the drive(s) that you were using. (did that TWICE before I realized what I was doing wrong. good luck!

Do not know why my camera is saying that my card needs to be formated' I brought it into London Drugs camera department and they could not help me they say that I need to find the manual; a manual that I...

This camera only supports an SD card of 1GB maximum. I tried a 2GB SD card and the camera reported the error you describe, that the card needs to be formatted (and it wouldn't format in the camera, either). I purchased a 1GB Duracell SD card P/N DU-SD-1024-C at Wal-Mart, and it was actually a 2GB card (tested in my desktop PC's SD slot and it was fine). Nice deal, but this camera can't use it. I bought a 3-pack of Kodak 1GB SD cards at Wal-Mart and they worked great in this camera.

How do I unlock a write protected sd card

Take the SD card out and look for a little switch on it, hit the switch and plug it back in.
That should've worked, if it didn't look on the instructions.

Hope that helped, If it didn't reply with more details.

Sandisk SD card 512MB

canon will let you reformat mem chip while in camera.
card reader will let your computer manage the disc. card readers cost about 8.00 but are already in some computers ...later models.
delete first
then put back into camera and reformat.
should be same for nikon.
don't use other cameras, so would suggest you read the camera manual.

high chance that your card is dead...take it to another card reader, like at a Wal-Mart kiosk to transfer pics for printing.
