Citizen iDp 3550 prints double-spaced

We have Citizen iDp 3550 printers here at work. They used to print single-spaced, but for some reason they print double-spaced now. I can't make sense of the manual I found online. We're wasting lots of paper for receipts! Anyone know how to fix this? Any help is much appreciated! =] I am having the same problem. I do not have access to make settings from the computer. I need to do any changes totally from the printer and I have not found the compination to getting the printer into a mode to do this. Does anyone have a solution. I am desperate. I need an answer so that I can get this reset before my snack bar opens tomorrow for the holiday weekend.

Thanks,

SOURCE: Citizen iDp 3550 prints double-spaced

It is a dip switch setting, on dip switch #6, it needs to be "On" It will then single space the lines. After re-setting the switch under the cover, turn off the printer for 30 seconds to clear the buffer...then holding the "LF" button, turn it back on, until its self test is complete. You problem will be over.

Printer double spaces between lines

That is a setting in your printer setup menu under options or advanced. Page set up should come up under advanced or as its own tab.

Thank you for posting to Fixya.com and it is my pleasure to guide you.

To help you in the furture I have found the manual for reference. Click the link or copy paste it to download it. http://www.posguys.com/download/iDP3550UME_09E.pdf

From the manual for the Interface Cables, the manual has pictures.

4.2 Connecting the Interface Cable
1. Turn off the power. (Mating side included)
2. Check the top and bottom of the cable terminals, and connect to the interface connector.
3. Secure the cable terminals.
Serial interface: Tighten screws to secure.
Parallel interface : Turn clamps to secure.
4. Connect the interface cable to the computer.

4.3 Connecting the Drawer Kick-Out Connector
1. Turn off the power.
2. Check the top and bottom of the drawer kick-out cable connector and connect it to the drawer kick-out connector located at the lower section of the printer.
3. Screw the grounding cable of the drawer to the grounding terminal located at the lower section of the printer.
CAUTION: • Connect only the prescribed drawer (Solenoid) to the drawer kick -out connector.

Good luck and please post back that you are successful and give thumbs up if my solution has worked for you. If I can be more helpful just reply.

Printer is printing jibberish = looks like a lot of "f"s underlined.

Try to turn the printer off and then on again. If that does not clear it you need to re-install the driver, the driver may be corrupt.

My hp Color Laserjet 3550 Printer wont print black when it is out of color ink

The 3550 won't print in any color if any of the colors are out. You'll have to replace the color ink that's empty to get it to print.

In the future, if you're just printing black and white, you can select "Print in Grayscale" from the print properties to just use the black ink cartridge, which will help the color cartridges to last longer.

DELETING DOCUMENTS

if you double click on the printer in "printers and faxes" menu you should be able to click on the "printer" menu and click "cancel all documents" if it seems to hang on "deleting" right click on "my computer" and click "manage" expand the "services and applications" menu and click on services. find and single click on the the print spooler service and click "restart service" that should clear the job. If not, power the printer off, reboot your PC and then power the printer back on.

Documents in single space print in double space

There may be a dip switch somewhere on the printer which enables/disables the extra linefeed. If both CR (carriage return) & LF (linefeed) are both enabled, you will get the double-spacing. In years past, I've run a few different Epson dot matrix printers, and seems like they had such a dip switch. Also, on the software end, you may be able to disable either CR or LF- check in your printer driver software.
