Sorry to hear your game save is corrupt.

while i haven't heart of any save problems with gta 4.... no game is perfect.

If it continually happens with gta 4 and possibly with other games, it could be a sign of hard drive failure.

Hd failure is a common problem with other models.

Just a heads up.

When i put an Xbox 360 game in it tries to play it as a DVD movie. please help!!!

When you try to play a DVD movie or an Xbox 360 game disc on your Xbox 360 console, you may receive an error message. This article presents step-by-step guidance to help you determine whether your disc is playable.
SYMPTOMS When you try to play a disc, you may receive the following error message: Can’t read this DVD.
CAUSE The DVD or game disc may be dirty or damaged. Because the console cannot read the disc well, it may even mistake a game disc for a DVD and report this error. If this problem occurs with multiple discs, even clean and undamaged discs, there may be a problem with your Xbox 360 console.
Note If you receive a different error message, such as one of the following messages, the problem is a different problem:
Error message 1 Can't play DVD. Wrong region code. Error message 2 Can’t play DVD. Family settings restrict playback of this DVD. If you receive one of these error messages, see the corresponding Knowledge Base article: 907620 While attempting to play a standard DVD movie using your Xbox 360 console, you receive the error message: "Can't play DVD. Wrong region code" 908645 While attempting to play a DVD movie using your Xbox 360 console, you receive the error message: "Can’t play DVD. Family settings restrict playback of this DVD"

THINGS TO TRY Here are some things that you can do to try to fix the problem or to determine what caused it.

Determine whether the disc is dirty or damaged Discs that are smudged, scratched, or otherwise damaged cannot be read by the Xbox 360 console. You will want to examine the disc to see whether it has smudges, scratches, or other damage. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Examine the disc for dirt or damage: a. Pick up the disc by its edges. Do not touch the top or bottom surface. b. Examine the shiny side of the disc to make sure that the disc is clean and has no damage.
NoteScratches that follow the curve of the disc are very damaging and prevent a disc from being read. If your disc has even one of these kinds of scratches, the disc is damaged, and you will no longer be able to play it. If this is the case, see step 4. 2. If the disc is dirty, clean the disc by hand: • Use a soft, clean, dry, chemical-free cloth to clean the disc. • Lightly wipe from the center of the disc outward. 3. After you clean the disc, try to load it in the Xbox 360 console. If the disc still will not load or you receive the same error message, the disc is damaged, and you will no longer be able to play it. If this is the case, see step 4. 4. If the disc is damaged, do one of the following: • Because DVD discs are not game discs and the disc was damaged because of misuse of some type, such as not storing the disc in its case, the only thing that you can do is buy a new one. • If you feel that the disc was damaged by the Xbox 360 console in some way, please contact Xbox Customer Support. Not reading a certain disk

Is the disc damaged in any way? Any scratches on the painted surface (to check: hold disc up to light and look through other side, if you can see a small hole the size of a pin hole or a hair then the data on the disc is damaged). Or easier: Try the disc in another console, if it works in another console the disc is ok then your console that has something wrong (perhaps it's a pal disc and your console is ntst?)

I need help xbox 360 black screen

OK, I think I can slove your problem.

There is a slide setting thing on your av cord that gives you the option of using TV or HDTV (look near the end of the cord that slides into the XBOX 360), You will see two choices for settings on the cord "TV" or "HDTV".
Just make sure that you have it on the correct setting. I had the smae problem. My XBOX 360 is not hooked up to HDTV, so for me it should stay on TV. But somehow when I took out the cord I accidently slide it to HDTV.

I simply slide it back to the "TV" Setting and in about 30 seconds it worked perfectly.

I hope this helps you.

Slow

There are multiple reasons why this could be happening. The most odvious would be the disk but you say that it looks fine. Next i would try to reset the xbox hard drive cache which involves a couple steps. "To perform the function, access 'memory' in the system blade, and then highlight the hard drive. Now press: Y, X, X, LB, RB, X, X. The following message should appear: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?"" After doing that does it improve the load times in the game? If that doesn't help it is most likely either the drive or the saved game. To test the drive try playing another game. If that works fine and loads at the normal pace then it is your saved game might need to be deleted. (If you have or can get ahold of a memory unit move the saved game to that and then delete it from the hard drive and test it. Afterwards you can then move it back over.) How that helps.

Doesnt read discs correctly...

I am almost 100% certain that the warranties of xbox 360 consoles have been extended 3 years.

I also had this problem some months ago, and Im sorry to say that I was told the problem is in the hardware. I had to send my xbox in, and they sent me a brand new one, fully covered under warranty.

Give xbox a call... 1-800-4MY-XBOX, ask about the warranty of your system, and also let them know your problem.
The only way I ever got any games to work with this problem, was to open and close the tray over and over until it finally worked, so I finally just sent it in. Good luck.
