No. The sound adapter is integrated into the motherboard, in order to keep the size of the computer as small as possible.

My sound won't work, it shows everything is set rightbut no sound can be heard, is there card that canbe replaced?

1. Check the sound volume is on for the device, not muted.

2. Re-install the sound driver from the Toshiba website.

3. There is no card to be replaced, it is usually part of the chipset on the motherboard.

The video card is replaceable and is relatively simple for those comfortable with laptop disassembly.

Probably impossible. Most laptop graphics chips are soldered directly to the motherboard requiring a new motherboard if one dies, and very few are actual "cards." That being said, it looks like your's is a nVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go which might be a card. I'll do some research and find out.
Comment posted on May 22, 2008 Well if you look at picture for Step 25 here:
http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba-Satellite-Pro-M10/replace-laptop-motherboard-3.htm

It does say that it's the "video board." It looks like it's replaceable, so if you can find a replacement card then it should be possible. Unless you are very comfortable following the guide starting at:
http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba-Satellite-Pro-M10/replace-laptop-motherboard.htm

I wouldn't recommend it.

Display problem

That does sound like a video card problem. You may be able to replace just the video card if it is it's own component. If it's integrated in to the motherboard, then you will have to replacement the motherboard.

Try contacting Toshiba directly. There is a "Contact" link on the top right-hand side of the page.

I could be wrong, but most laptops have all the peripherals intergraded into the motherboard in order to get such a slim profile all on one board. The sound card, video card, network card, and all are non removable and non replaceable. When it comes time to upgrade, then you'll have to start looking for another laptop. Sometimes though, Toshiba will have driver upgrades on their website for new features and fixes.
