My passcode is not opening my remington express gunsafe. I have tried holding the poles of a 9 volt battery to the metal area under the keypad but it does not work. What can I do at this point?

The Remington Express 16 Gun Cabinet is *NOT* a gun "safe". It is not sold by the Remington Safe Co. nor was it made by Liberty Safes. It was a cheap import sold by some Sports Authority stores and other sporting good shops. If you do not get the red light to come on with each keypress, what happened here was that the electronics inside have corroded or shorted (possibly due to a battery leak), and the external battery power will not help. A locksmith is the answer if you do not wish to strong-arm it open. Then buy a good gun safe. To keep this from happening to your Remington cabinet, change the battery at least yearly.

Gunsafes are meant to be difficult to open. I'm unsure as to your logic in the novel use of that 9v battery, all it would have done was to short circuit the battery.

Remington's own website gives you only one option if you're a US resident, "Contact Liberty Safes, the licensee, at 800-247-5625 for assistance with obtaining the combination to your safe.

If your safe is a low cost model and you need access quickly then you'll have to cut the safe open, but more expensive models are resistant to this form of attack and the safe will need to be scrapped and replaced afterwards.

Only has keypad to access safe. batteries are dead

Leave it for a week. The batteries might have regenerated just enough to open the door once more.

Otherwise there may be a keyhole beneath the front plate.

If all else fails, you'll have to cut the back out of the safe.

How do you attach the chainsaw to the pole?

You simply mount the saw between the two metal plates.
There are two screws holding the plates together.
Look in the owners manual and it will guide you how to attach the saw.
Once the saw is attached, plug in the power cable that is on the end of the pole. One word of advice....there is a large locking collar ring that enables the two poles to extend and lock together. There has been numerous reports that the locking collar ring splits due to overexersion. You can add a stainless worm clamp (similar to a radiator hose clamp) around the rind and tighten it securely. Be sure it is a heavy duty wide clamp. This will help to keep the ring from splitting under pressure.

I have a cs-2 digital safe batteries dead cant find key help please

Try taking a 9 v battery and hold the terminals against the metal frame of the safe. If this works you should be able to enter your code and get her open. Then you can replace the 4 AA batteries on the back of the door. Good luck

Gun safe, can't open it.

on the key pad bottom edge right above the nob are 2 half moons - this is for touching a new 9 volt to the metal and power the unit to input your code and open it - then replace battery.

Sentry 1610 safe. cannot open. I have been using 5 didgit code for many yaers. All of sudden, it won't open. I see green light after pushing 5 digits. I hear the familar sound. But the handle won't turn.

there are either 4 AA batteries or in some cases one 9 volt battery that has to be replaced .. in some models you slide off the area under the keypad to get at the battery .. .. as the battery ages it has enough current to operate the display but not enough to operate the unlocking mechinism .. once you have it open make sure the mechinism works freely .. if not it may need some non gumming lub .. dont use WD 40 for this ..
