Make sure none of the staples used to hold the wiring to the wall control have cut through the insulation. This is the most common problem.

No doubt you have a rambling controller that changes the codes quite often. That protection prevents other from opening the door when you are away. It sounds like your hand controller needs a new battery, or a neighbor used their device that just happened to trip your sensor. Call the manufacturer and get assistance, have them run you through the process of readjustment.

Where is the learn button on the Napoleon Roller Door Controller

Usually, they are near the antenna wire that hangs down.

Usually, that is in the back of the opener motor.

But some are near the light bulb(s):

Liftmaster 3265M Garage Door Opener opens on its own

Sounds like one of your neighbors may have recently replaced their own garage door opener and it coincidentally operates in the same frequency band as yours. One of them may also have purchased a new car and recently programmed it to open their door, but it inadvertantly interferes with yours. Depending on the quality of your door opener's receiver and how old it is, some receivers are not as good as others in their ability to discriminate against similar transmitted codes in the same frequency band. When the door opens by itself immediately go outside and see if a neighbor's door has just been opened (or closed) at the same time. Does your door open by itself at similar times during day? Like when a neighbor might be leaving or returning home from work? When someone uses a remote to close their garage door when leaving home, they (and the remote) are usually located in their driveway, but when they use it to open the door upon arriving home, they might be located right in front of your house.

Garage door remote

It sounds like the lock function has been toggled on. Press and hold the button on the wall control with the lock icon for 3 seconds. This will toggle that function off.

The garage door works when it wants to.

You have a problem with the safety eyes. Make sure a light is on on both eyes. If not, realign until both lights come on.

Light bulbs burn out after a few days in garage door opener, craftsman 1/2 HP double lights. have used every kind out there, specially made for garage doors, etc.

Try REVEAL brand DOUBLE LIFE ceiling fan light bulbs, available from HOME DEPOT. The filament in those bulbs is much thicker than any others, and the one I installed on my own Sears GDO has lasted 3 months so far, compared to one week for others I have tried.

Lift-Master garage door opener Model 1045-6 1/3 hp

Most residential garage door openers have a max. amount of cycles they can run per hour. Thus the difference between a residential opener which only needs to be opened a few times a day vs. a commercial opener which needs to open 10-20 times and hour. This could be your problem, you may be running too many cycles too soon. This would explain why it seems to work again after unplugging the power. You're resetting the unit. Hope this helps.
