Take the battery off. hold the power for 10 sec. Then put the battery back on. Push the reset button 1st then hold the power for 6sec. let off the power button 1st and it should do A hard restart. Take out any memory cards before you do this.
I enter a password and forgot the same.I tried to hard reset the pda as given in the manual by pressing the power button and the soft reset button for 6 secs.But the instrument goes only to the password window.I tried many times the hard setting but no success. Instuct me how to solve this

HOpe you did the hard reset by pressing and holding home +power and then alt+w .
Does pressing and holding camera and power gives you the bootloader ( Hboot ) screen . IF yes , try reset from there .

Hi there, I think you pressed some more buttons and accidentaly you entered your device into Serial Mode (Bootloader), which you should update your ROM or reinstall your existing ROM in order to exit that state. reset the jasjar by pressing the reset switch. you can also do a hard reset by opening the keyboard, see the functions keys, there are two that are labeled - and - hold them down and press the reset button, follow on screen instructions for hard reset.
The Black screen that you are talking about is the bootloader of your PPC. Its just like the BIOS of your Computer.

This is a common issue, you might want to try these, in hope 1 of them will work:
- make sure there's no problem in the configurations of the devices and their both connection is to USB.
- there's probably a collision with anther device that is connected to the palm, try doing uninstall to everything, do a hard reset, run " activesync" or " hotsync" and reconnect.
