Inspection:2001 ELANTRA/POWER WINDOWS - a44e8bd.gif Connect the motor terminals directly to battery voltage (12V) and check that the motor operates smoothly. Next, reverse the polarity and check that the motor operates smoothly in the reverse direction. If the operation is abnormal, replace the motor.

Heated driver seat doesn't heat on 2001 Buick Regal GS

You have probably burnt up the element as it is a 17 year old seat now. The elements are replaceable, but the labor is pretty spendy. To test it you will need a multimeter to check for continuity across the connectors that go to the seat heating elements and check for voltage at the car side of the connector. If you have 12v to one side of the connector and continuity to ground at the other side, and do not have continuity to the seat side between the connectors, you know it is a bad element.

Why both turn signals don't work

For the defroster:

Turn the defroster on and check for 12v at the connector on the window. If you have 12v, check for breaks in the element (the thin lines running across the window). If you do not have 12v and the fuse is good, the culprit will most likely either be the switch or the wiring.

For the right park light:

Check the bulb socket. You should have 12v at one terminal (with the park lights on) and ground at the other. If the voltage and ground are ok, you either have a bad bulb or possibly a bad socket. By bad socket I mean they can sometimes distort and not allow the terminals to make good enough contact.

Hope this was helpful.

My power windows dont work

First I would check the fuses if there good then make sure you have power to the switch. You can check that with a test light on the main connector to the door.If you have power to the switch Then make sure that the master lock for the windows is off. Then if that doesn't work check for continuity across the switch. The main thing I would check are the fuses and the master window lock first if none of the windows are working.

GAUGES, CLUSTER, POWER WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCKS QUIT WORKING AT SAME TIME. HAVE PUT A USED CLUSTER IN , NEW IGN SWITCH, BODY MODULE UP UNDER DASH

Hi,
You need to check the fuse's in the main junction block which is fuse # 7 if this fuse is ok. Then turn the ignition switch off, disconnect the battery negative terminal and leave it off for 15mins. Reconnect then turn ignition switch on.

If these procedures still not working then you will need to remove the cluster and check that you have power going to the cluster through the (PCD) circut board on the back of the cluster.

The connector on the back is a 10 pin item count the terminals from the bottom left terminal # 1 - 10 at the Right hand top terminal. You should have power at terminal 3 and a ground signal at terminal 1 and 2.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need more information.

Thanks

My power windows do not work. The Haynes Repair Manual mentions that it could be that a circuit breaker was tripped and might need to be resetted manually. Where and how do I manually reset the circuit...

i have diagram for accord 1993, i cant see the breaker you mentioned, if your relay is ok, its mean that fuse #15 have power 12V and when the ignition is on, the relay have supply 12V to fuse #33, if all this ok, the problm is on your power window main switch, connect a wire supply by 12V to white/yellow wire at power window main switch or test this wire if already have 12V when ignition is on

My back heated windowis not working how can i see if the wire has not come off or is there any power going to it On audi a4

does a relay click when you press the switch?

There are only 2 wires, one going to each end of the window element.

A 12v test lamp connected to both terminals will light up if the power is ok, the element may be damaged from cleaning the window, a bonded glass connector may have fallen off, the relay may have failed, or the fuse is blown if there is no power. A 12v test lamp can be gotten cheaply at any auto parts store. If power is there check the element itself is complete, and if there is no power, check the fuse, relay and earth connections.

Elantra power windows work from door switches but fail from main

It was very srange, but all the contacts inside the switches of the main power window console (mounted in driver's door) were covered with soot.
I have disassembled the switch and cleaned the contacts. All functions well now.
The problem occured on a car that is used very rarely, that was most probably the reason of the sudden failure of the system.
Replacement of the main power windows switch would do the same but I have saved the expense this time. Hope the repair will last until I will sell the car.
