goto U'r control panel - system - advanced - startup & recovery, uncheck automatic restart on crash. This will stop the restarting. Will U'r system print other photos? R U using windows photo program?

Sometimes the software programs that are installed with a printer can cause mis-commands in the kernel. Using the add/remove programs in th control panel uninstall whatever programs the HP cd installed.

Go to the control panel - system - device manager and uninstall all the printers. Goto the control panel - printers and uninstall all the printers.

Reboot, leaving the printer plugged into the pc. When it finds U'r printer use the printer cd ONLY to load the driver for it.

If this allows U to print a picture, then U can try loading the printer programs from the printer cd.

I put in the recovery desk. I pushede F11 as prompted. I then pushed "R" for recovery and the computer shuts back down before recovery.

Hello,

Some model of emachine will cycle through the recovery process. When your pc shuts down after pushing R, is it immediatly or does the pc perform a bit longer and then shut down? Also, when it shut down, do you push any buttons? (you should not have to.)

Thanks

Blow out the computer with canned air. If the heatsink is full of dust then its overheating. Dont leave it on over night either.

E-machine computer will not shut down

When you say "it will not shut down", are you referring to clicking on start and then shut down?

You could try forcing a shut down by holding the power switch down for about 5 seconds.

Sounds like it might be getting over heated. You will have to clean out the cooling system.

Emachine shut down

No, it's just the USB ports that are still being powered.
Totally normal in most new computers. Same thing with the PS2 ports.
There are jumpers on the motherboard that can change this if you really want. It's designed like that to keep things like you have powered for when you do turn it on and need them.
