Most salt systems need 3-4000 ppm of salt in the water to operate. (which is no big deal). You will probably do more damage" Drowning" your lawn. There is a lot more water in there than you might think.

Where can you buy pool shock in malaysia

If you have a salt water system, you may safely use and 'pool shock' as long as it is either sodium based or is potassium peroxymonopersulfate based. Typical liquid pool shock, or even granular shock for a salt system, is compariable to household bleach. Main difference is bleach may contain a trace of phosphates, but nothing that will harm the system. I see no problem using bleach. Just dont enter the water until the chlorine reading has dropped to or below 4ppm. Hope this helps! Pool management and chem analysis experience of 6 years.

My intex saltwater system pool is cloudy

The chlorine level maybe too low and it is allowing algae to start growing.
Check the Ph level, it should be around 7.
Check the chlorine level in the pools water, use your chlorine test kit.
Check the salt levels, make sure it is at the correct concentration, too low a salt level and the Intex will not be able to generate enough chlorine.

After modifying our 20x 48 Summer Escapes pool to utilize our Intex Saltwater system - why is the saltwater pump showing low flow?

Index salt chlorinators need a certain flow rate. Check the flow rate on your pump to see if it is strong enough.

My pool is nasty green...waiting for intex saltwater unit to arrive. Do I need to drain pool before and put clean water in before I begin running this new pump?

I would start with a fresh clean pool if it's that nasty green!!! Drain and scrub all algae..
Did you already buy your salt?? Remember.. you will need to add your salt and run the pump without the chlorinator for 24 hrs to properly dissolve the salt.. If your not sure how much salt to buy, post again how many gallons your pool is and how much salt will you need and you should get an answer from one of us... Good luck....

I have had my intex saltwater system since June. It has done wonderful up till now. I keep getting a high salt error. I haven't added any salt. what could be wrong?

Have you had a lot of water evaporate from your pool from the heat. As the water evaporates the salt content in the pool goes up. If so then drain a fair amount of the water out of the pool and add fresh water to fill it up again. Also unscrew the connector on the right side of the electrolytic cell and make sure the plates are clean. If that doesnt fix the problem than you may have to replace the cell.

If my pool has an algae problem now . can i convert to a saltwater filtration system w/o draining the pool ?

You need to rid the pool from algee. When you say saltwater filtration do you mean a chlorene generator? It generates chlorene from the sodium chloride that you maintain in pool. This still means you need chlorene to kill the algee. Shock the pool with chlorene shock. After allowing the pump filter to mix, let stand ovenight. Vacuum green slime from bottom to waste. Your pool supplier can help you . Kill the algee then start up chlorene generator.

Saltwater pool is milky how can i fix it

I think you have too much salt in the water. Have your sater tested. Salt should be around 3200 ppm. If it is more, you will have to drain some water out and replace it with fresh.

I connected my saltwater sytem from intex for above ground pool, ran it for the appropriate time for the gallons of water which was 3 hours and now my water is all brown, why did this happen and how do I...

Sounds like you have iron in your water (well water perhaps?). You can get some stuff (sorry, don't remember what it is) from a pool place that will take care of that. It drove me nuts the first time I did it - drained the pool and started over thinking it was brown algae!

Low flow indicator on

  1. Plug your inlet and outlet openings so that you can do the next steps
  2. Assuming you have checked your outlet for blockage (skimmer, screen, etc.) take the hose off the end of the chlorinator (goes to the pool inlet) and check the elements for buildup. If all clear
  3. Take the hose off the pump inlet (comes from the pool outlet) and check for hair, grass, etc. clogging the inlet.

Code 93 saltwater system

Hi, Code 93 is telling you that the system is done running, did you mean to say it said 92? That code would be for too much salt. If indeed it is a Code 92 you are getting, give Intex a call, or email. I have found their website to be very helpful, they have a F&Q's area. Good luck!
