I plugged my player into my computer using the USB, and though it charges the player I am unable to transfer MP3s. The computer says it is not attached.
Sony died so I dragged out the HP and installed Creative Zen drivers
In posing the problem, since the CD was still in the PC after setting up the program for Zen V Plus I wrongly assumed that the drivers had been loaded. Between the FAQ on the Creative site and FixYa, I updated the Windows Media Player, checked and reloaded the drivers and followed the bouncing ball directions to get the little bugger going, Thanks.

Try different USB cable. The possible problem you will have though is that I suspect you will need a firewire USB cable, which most of the Glaciers & lookalikes use, so it might not be as readily available. Does it charge ok via plug charger? Try switching off & on whilst connected to computer. Also try the control panel/system/device manager settings & see if there is any sign of it in there.
What chips does it have (look under sticky paper under battery)?
My Zen Mozaic will charge when I plug it into the computer, but I can't access the files from My Computer and Creative Centrale says, "No Player is connected" when I click on the 'Transfer' button. It works on my other computer though, but that computer has a virus so i can't us
Try using the AC charger for the mp3 player, If It does the same thing, Ur MP3 is defective and u can return it with out the receitp sayin that it was a christmas gift since most eleftronics have a 1 year warranty
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
