Hello, when you are looking at the back end of printer, open up cover, the cover will open and stop, look further in and you will a black guide, or black plastic, open that up, if it does not open on its own, there is a piece of plastic that might look like a stick, sometimes this will get stuck, use a flashlight, and you will see haw this thing works, if it does not move freely, it will trigger rear door open, be carefull with this piece of plastic, it does break. again it will trigger an open rear door error.

I take that back, this was very helpful!!!! The "stick" mentioned in the tip looks a bit like an "L" when you access the second cover, the longest portion of this stick is connected into the righthand side of the printer if you were looking directly at it. BTW, the second cover is technically called the "rear chute cover" in the printer manual. There is a short "branch" coming off of the longer portion of the stick. When clearing my paper jam, this must have gotten stuck - it's supposed to fit into a slot molded into the rear chute cover for it. I tried moving the branch into the slot and it felt like something snapped back into place. Just be careful not to break the stick, or then you'll really be SOL. All of this talk of sticks and slots might sound a bit dirty, but it really did fix the problem. Thanks!!!!

First of all I have a paper jam, one sheet got stuck after I tried to make a copy. Since then every time I turn on the printer it won't print or copy, of course the sheet is still stuck. I get the message:...

first open the front cover remove the toner of the printer and remove the paper jam, and turn off the printer, unplug the power plug from wall outlet and at the back of the printer and after 2 minutes plug it back and turn on.

Message says no paper in front tray. Paper is where I've always put it in back. Won't print.

go print -> properties -> page setup -> print options -> tick Disable the paper source setting of the application software -> hit ok and go back to "main" -> select the paper source that you want and hit ok ok and print

Epson R320 "General Error" message - unable to clear

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your Epson printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Fix 'Carriage Jam' : Open Door, clear carriage jam,
and then press OK to continue' error message
Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

    Brother 5250

I had the same problem on 4 Brother HL-5250's, I checked the whole printer, and couldn't find a paper jam, yet the red printer light wouldn't shut off. I finally followed the instructions on Brother's website for removing a paper jam, and the solution for all 4 printers was paper stuck in the fuser cover. See below on how to open the fuser cover.

Pull the tabs at the left and right hand sides toward you to open the fuser cover (1).

    3. There are 2 kinds of covers at the rear of the printer. Please make sure to open both the back cover (step 7) and the fuser cover (step8).
