Hello- I would check the dryer outlet and confirm you are getting 220V. As well, flip the dryer breaker on an off again (it should be a double style breaker, 2 singles linked) sometimes they are sticky. Let me know if it still doesn't work. Best regards.

Kenmore Series 80 Dryer won't start after Circuit breaker was tripped

A breaker thrown that many times indicates a serious electrical problem. You need to have the problem taken care of by an electrician. You should be worried about the safety of yourself and your family.
That being said, I would guess that breaker has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

Buttons, sounds, lights all go on but the dryer will not dry

Hello toofdr - Often this occurs because either a fuse from the fuse box is blown or the switches on the breaker tripped, depending on your house. If your house uses fuses, there are two house fuses that supply voltage to the dryer circuit in your fuse box. If one of the two fuses is blown, the unit may turn on but will not heat. Check and replace fuse in fuse box if necessary. However, if the house has circuit breakers, there may be two breakers with switches that supply voltage to the dryer and if one is tripped the unit as well will experience this issue. The heater of a dryer requires 220 to 240 volts to operate. Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household breaker to the off position. Wait approximately two minutes, turn on the dryer and select a normal cycle. If the issue persists, it could also potentially mean a number of other things: defective cord, wiring, control board or door switch. I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose the dryer to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.

My whirlpool dryer was working fine then I heard a pop noise then dryer shut off

it sounds to me like a wire came loose and shorted out or popped fuse!!! Check your breaker box and if the breaker is not blowed or flipped, then you probably need to replace the dryer fuse!!!

I flipped the breaker in my fuse box to my dryer off and back on while the dryer was running. now the dryer wont come back on. what could be the problem and is it easy to fix?

if the unit was working fine before you flipped the breaker off then i would say you have a bad breaker... it is possible for only half the breaker to fail and you would still have a light and possible even tumble on dryer but no heat.... turn breaker off again and snap back on may require a few trys and it may require replacement of breaker...obviously the correct way to test would be with a volt meter (ac current) and test at your dryer where it connects are you getting 220- 247 volts on the 2 outside terminal connections... if not your breaker or plug has failed.... good luck to you

Dryer wont turn on. Breaker in breaker box is fine. No light inside dryer. What's wrong?

Dryers run off 220v, and sometimes only one leg of the breaker trips. So you need to flip the breaker all the way off, and then back on. Sometimes the breaker feels off but is not fully reset. Make sure you completely trip it off then back on. Does the dryer light work now? Is there any indication that it's getting some power? If the breaker is fine and your still not getting power, then the next step is to make sure you have power coming to the plug behind the dryer. At this point you should only continue if your comfortable working with electricity. Once you move the dryer you can check the outlet with a meter, or other circuit tester. If you got power here, then you'll need to start checking things on the dryer. you can remove the plate where the cord goes into the dryer and look for loose or burnt wiring there. If that looks ok, then you'll need to start taking the dryer apart; front panel, top, back, etc, as needed to access the wiring and controls. From here you can trace the wiring from the supply to the controls and to the motor, etc. look for anything burn, If nothing looks out of place you can start checking temp sensors, or fusable links. If this is above your head, then stop where your not comfortable and have checked by a service technician.

LG Dyer blows 30amp fuse frequently

Hello davidkado,
There is a high probability that when you replaced your fuse box to circuit breakers that the wiring at the fuse box was retightened. If your dryer had been operating Ok for the better part of a year and then you started to blow fuses on a regular basis.. chances are the wiring coming from the fuse box tap was becoming loose from thermal expansion and contraction and that by changing to a breaker system.. your wiring was cut and reterminated to fit the breaker tap. I suspect you won't be having any additional problems...

Rick

Lights come on and makes a clicking sound when I push start.

Try checking your fuse box or circuit breaker panel first. The dryer requires 2-30 amp fuses to operate normally...replace both fuses instead of gussing which 1 is bad. OR, the dryer uses a double pole 30 amp circuit breaker...Flip it to OFF then back to ON. Then try your dryer and if it works you can send me flowers...just kidding! If it doesn't work, write me back and we will do some more soul searching.

Check your fuses or breaker. An electric dryer requires 240 volts to operate. In a fuse box system, 2-30 amp fuses are required for an electric dryer to operate. If 1 fuse is blown it will not start or heat depending on which fuse is blown.
In a breaker system the breaker can trip and sometimes look ok. Find your 30 amp dryer breaker and reset it by flipping the lever to off, then back on.
If this doesn't help, you may have a faulty door switch or maybe your door has loosened from the hinges and has sagged a bit, breaking contact with the door switch plunger.
If you can locate the door switch, push on the plunger... you should hear an audible click...if you do then the door switch is normally ok, but not always, it is just a simple test to rule a bad switch which is normally silent if it is faulty.
You may want to inspect for a burned wire or wire termination.
Make sure dryer is unplugged from the power source before inspecting!!!
Other than the previous instructions, it is difficult for a novice to diagnose the problem...call a technician in to fix your dryer.
1 more thing, Just because a breaker appears to be on, and/or you flipped it off then on, doesn't mean the breaker is ok. Fuses also can look good and be bad. A small volt-ohm meter($10.00) is a good investment for testing voltage, and to save time and money.

Hope this gets you up and running.

If it is running, chances are one of the thermostats are gone. You have two on the heater bank, a high level and a safety, have them both changed.

Check your fuses or breaker...If you have fuses, replace both 30 amp fuses. If you have breakers, flip breaker to OFF then back to ON, then try your dryer to see if it heats.
