Question about Lands Phones
If this is you base phone , then it is possible that the line voltage of the telephone exchange is getting shorted in the phone.
This normally happens when the phone line in voltage section gets a peak and shorts into the receiving transistor or IC.
So a check to release off the short will bring back the dial tone.
