Question about Philips ProScreen 4750 Impact Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Dark screen Dear Experts, I have the following problem with my Philips Proscreen 4750 projector - when I turn it on the picture is extremely dark. I can see what is going on in the picture (meaning that connection with the source works well), but it is very dark, i.e. almost unrecognisable. I can also see that the lamp is glowing with full brightness (black level normaly high), so it is not a problem with a lamp. For me, it looks like the driving voltage on the LCD pannels has 10 or 100 times lower amplitude (i.e. swing) than nominal and that everything else works properly. In this way it keeps LCD's in dark state, but with the small voltage that it drives them it produces the image which I still can see. Problem does not depend which video input I use and it exists also when I bring the menu up. In the beginning it was present just from time to time, then got worse and now the problem is present all the time. Could anyone give me an advice how to repair it myself? Thank you very much in advance, Bob

The adjustment requires disassembling the projector. It's not really something that should be attempted in the field.

You can check inside or at bottom if there is any fuse box because your fuse might have gone..

Phlips proscreen 4750, how do i open up the case to get to the inside/ and how do I adjust the convergence?

There is not a lot you can do with it, even setting up the static convergeance as you require a crosshatch generator, dot generator and specialist tools to adjust the LCD immagers.
It is not practical for the laman to attempt an adjustment of this sort.
Take it to a Philips Specialized Repair Centre.

It keeps overheating.

Is the fan set to run continuously? Go to the menu and see if it's set up to run. Also we have this problem with mounted projectors in our classrooms, we have to keep the room cool, and make sure the projector gets circulation of air.
Hope this helps.

either it's overheated or needs a replacement bulb.Do not cover this unit with anything as it will prevent cooling down..

How do you get the bulb out of the Phillips ProScreen 4750?

Hi there

There should be a lamp door at the bottom of the Projector that you have to unscrew before you will be able to take out the lamp.
