From what you are describing the half moon shaped window behind the main floor nozzle is dragging on the carpet. There are two screws that hold the half moon window in place. Make sure those screws are tight then take off the front floor nozzle and re-install it, making sure the front nozzle is hooked to the half moon window in the center. Hi Richardad229. The front clear window nozzle(s) may be off alignment and can be re-aligned quite easily.

Who makes the carpet magic steam machine

Originally, they were made by the "Carpet Magic Company" which was acquired during the 1970's by "Hartz Mountain Corporation". Hartz Mountain Corporation (HMC) was ultimately sold to "Sumitomo Corporation" of Japan, in 2004.

The Carpet Magic trademark has lapsed, meaning that these machines are no longer manufactured by anyone.

Parts for these machines are still available in places, however there is no longer any manufacturer support available for these machines.

Please rate this solution if you find it helpful. Thanks.

It won't move forward. it turns on but drags when going forward will go backward smoothly.

On the front of Carpet claner is the clear part that pulls the water back up. It may have come apart. this will cause it to catch, unplug the cleaner, remove all the cleaners and water container, then , lift up and look at this part, If it has a large gap it has come apart.

Brushes stop rolling when against carpet, yes it is out of the upright position and when I left the base off the carpet the brushes start to roll again. What is wrong?

Your belt is stretched out so it just stops when the carpet resists it. Get a new belt made for your particular machine and you should be back up and running

Does not allow you to push forward

check to make sure that both clear window screws are tight. these will be the 2 screws on the very front and the 2 screws above the brushroll in the bottom of your steamer. if they come loose it will drag on your carpet and not want to push.

Ckeaner drags on carpet

This unit has the outer window, and a half moon window behind it. Check to make sure the 2 screws holding the half moon window are tight and that the plastic hasn't broken. The 2 windows at the bottom cener merge together, they may have come apart. Usually when one or the other window is out of place, it will cause a drag. You may have to replace the half moon window.

Bissle will not let water out if Bladder

Check the vale at the bottom of the tank. Push it in and see if water comes out ok, also check to make sure the seal is on the valve asm. Check the pump belt to see if it broke. Could have a bad pump. Is the top cover seated against the base in the back, if it is raised up, then it also raises the tank so it can't work.

Where the lip of the tank sits on the clear window, is the gasket there? If it is missing, it won't suck up the water. It is black, oblong (#24)and sits in a slot on the clear window providing a seal for the tank. Is the filter clean(#62), should be sitting in the square opening on the bottom of the lid, it sits right over the sucking opening.
