that has made me think about my AV cable being buggered or my power pack but they both work fine as my friend brought his elite round and it worked perfectly fine then with my AV cable and my power pack to his, and its nothing to do with me hard drive, it just really fucks me off that my xbox has done it for the 2nd time, the first time was the 3 red lights but i got refunded for that, but just not covered under the extended warranty for one red light, so do you think that i should just get it repaired and wait up to 4 weeks for £60, or buy a new arcade one for £160 and then sell my old xbox on ebay? what do ya think?

  • cleggy19 May 27, 2008

yeh i have already bought a new one lol, i will sell it with the AV cable and power pack as i have got new ones with mine, and i might sell the memory unit with the 5 arcade games on it as well, im sure some one will pay about £50 for that lot, which should be about $90-$100, i am hoping lol

  • cleggy19 May 28, 2008

hmmm that is very tempting, it comes with a power pack and an AV cable, but i have seen on amazon and ebay that power packs are very rare to buy sepratley and some have been going for £50, about $100, so i will have a think about what i will do, i havent broke the microsoft sticker off the xbox so i havent opened the insides up at all, just to let you know lol

hmmm, that is very tempting, i might be selling me xbox with the power pack and the AV cable, i have seen on ebay and amazon that power packs are quite rare to buy by themselves and have been selling for £50, around about $100 just for them, so is it ok if i have a think about it? and just to let you know that i havent broke the microsoft sticker off me xbox because i havent even attempted to fix it myself lol

How do i fix an error 74 on an xbox360

The E74/E6x/E4x/E8x are famous error codes that have plagued many Xbox 360 gamers. This error codes will be displayed on your screen, each indicating different problem with your Xbox 360. It's usually defined by the single red light or 1 Red Light Error lit up at lower right quadrant on the Red Ring of Light on your Xbox 360 console.
E74: There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. In some cases it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by using the Xbox 360 Repair Guide. Xbox 360 E74 error has reported to increasing a lot for the newer Xbox 360 version.
Hope this was helpful?

One red light flashing on xbox360,code e74 showing on screen

If you have 1 red light flashing it is normally E74 or some other E error you need to stop the heat.

You can send it in and Microsoft will do it for you or you can repair it yourself using a good guide

One red light and E74

You see the lower-right quadrant of the Ring of Light flash red on the front of your Xbox 360 console. You also receive the following error message in multiple languages on your television screen or display: E74. System Error. Contact Xbox Customer Support.

You will see the following indicator on the front panel of your Xbox 360 console, which will repeatedly flash on and off:

Xbox 360 e74 error

Having the e-74 code is when the video chip on the 360 over heats and becomes un soldered your best bet is to turn the 360 on with a towel over it and wait for 3 red lights the call microsoft and tell them the 3 lights issue dont mention the 1 light or it will cost you dearly around 150$

One red flashing light e74 rror code

E74: AV cable error... There is a problem with the AV cable, try using a different AV cable. If the cable is known
to be working then there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected
directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU.
If you just got it take it back, if you have had it for a little while you need to call microsoft and send it off for repair
