Question about Lexmark X2500 All-In-One Printer

My X2500 all in one Lexmark printer has had a problem for 2 months now. Every time i try to print it says "printer cannot communicate with the computer, communiaion not available" . I've tried everything (including unplugging both mains and USB cables) to try and put it right but nothing has worked. Thinking of buying another printer but cannot afford to. Need to use this printer for working.

I would uninstall the printer and then reinstalling the printer and software. If this does not work check all cables to be sure they are not bad. Make sure all cables are connected.

Put brand new lexmark 28 cartridge just 4 days ago. Maybe used 10 times. Computer says ink is low and won't print anymore. However, can still make copies.


It could be just a slight communication failure between your cartridges and the printer. Try to re-seat the cartridges by removing and re-inserting them into the cartridge carrier.

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Re-brick your printer. Pull out the power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

My lexmark X2500 is connected powered on everything is set correctly but it keeps saying problem communicating with my printer. I was trying to print a test page and it wont work. Deleted the printed and...


It is possible that it is the USB cable or port. Try another cable if possible and another port on the PC. When you plug it in does the computer recognize it? If not it could also be a hardware issue with the printer itself. Regards GM

Computer will not communicate with printer


Download and reinstall the drivers for your printer. Just go to google and type in the printer model and "drivers".

Try cleaning the copper plates and install back again if the same message pops up try single cartridge if the error exits with 2 cartridges ,replace the cartridge as lexmark cart has 1 year warranty..
