If you can, try your monitor on another PC, neighbough or friend if necessary. If it fails, you've a monitor problem, if it works you've a PC problem. Oh ensure you use the same leads each time.

If its the monitor then its a replacement or repair, if its the PC, it could be just the graphics card needs reseating or replacing. Not too expensive if you're not into CAD or gaming. You could try second hand but make sure its compatible with your motherboard.

Lg monitor power problem

Here's some tricks I would try. Something here, might help...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your monitor on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.
Good luck.

No power , power switch does not respond. checked power cord, fully connected. Tried 3 different home outlets.

Mine did the same the other day and all I had to do was replace the fuse in the plug. Just a thought if your monitor gets power direct and not through the PC
Good Luck

Monitors comes on for a few seconds then goes black. the only way is to turn it on and off but still only stays on for a couple for seconds

I think the power board might be going bad in there. Hook up a different good working monitor to the computer and see what happenss.

If the monitor still turns off after a few seconds then you know its the video card acting up. If the monitor stays on then you know its the original monitor that is bad for sure.

Mag Innovision LT982s 19 inch flat screen monitor

Hi,

Often the plug of the power cord and its mate, the jack in the monitor, would have to conform with the region/country of its intended use. Having said this, then it is possible that your particular version is meant for another country but is likewise sold in your country. A picture of the monitor's connector would help narrowing the selection and possible source/supplier. Pls post if able.

Alternately, you could try viewing the different types here, here or here to get the specific part number or model of the AC cord.

Incidentally, most electronics shops/stores sell a variety of power cords, perhaps a visual check would further assist you.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back as requested, how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
