Question about GE Spacemaker JVM1640SJ Microwave Oven

LG LMVM1935SW Microwave

Hi,
I just feel stupid that i sprayed Windex and cleaned the Touchpad while M/W was plugged in. Now the touchpad or the Light and Vent bottons dont work. Only thing that works is the inside light.
I took apart the control board and it seems fine according to the tecj sheet i found inside. I also pealed off the touch pad and noticed a burn matk inside the LCD.
I can't figure out how to take apart the door to get to it so i can order and replace the part.
Any help would be appreciated.
Let me know if you need any details or pics and i can try to post.

Thank you for the prompt solution. Only difference is my LG LMVM1935SW has the touch control along the bottom front of the door with the VFD in the middle. So i take it there is a board that the VFD is mounted on and the touch control ribbon cable is pluggd into. How to get to it..??

    thanks in advance.

Thanks MicrowaveSvc, with your help I was able to take apart the door and have troubleshooted down to it being a bad touchpad. If I disconnect the touchpad, then the vent and the under side light work and can be conrolled at will. if i plug the touchpad back in, it starts mis-behaving and only works when it wants to.

Can i order a touchpad for this model thru MicrowaveSvc..??

    thanks again,

Actually, that's a VFD display, not an LCD type, so the burn mark is normal. That mark is created when the tube is evacuated.

You wouldn't need to take apart the door just to replace the keypad.

That's something we do for $39.95 but if you might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

It's at http://www.microwavedisplay.com/keypad_replacement.pdf

Oh yes, then you will need to disassemble the door. (Sorry, but I don't have the specific manual and didn't check far enough).

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.
