SOURCE: My Service light is blinking and there is an EC 50

Try powering refrigerator/freezer off for 1 minute and then repower back on which will clear the error code. If EC 50 rror code does not come back, it was posible you 1) had a house power failure interruption for a period of time and the compressor had to work extra hard to catch back up. or 2) also check to see that a door is not being held slightly ajar and is being blocked by food making the compressor run too much.

SOURCE: Model 685 Manufactured 02/04.

Hello,

More than likely the control board in the refrigerator section has failed. The only thing that would cause this issue it a control. The breaker reset was only resetting the software in the control board.

Replace the board on the side and it will fix this issue.

EC error code meaning

Hello friend, thank you for your inquiry!

I understand that you are getting an "EC" error code on your Frigidaire air conditioner. However, it appears "EC" is an invalid error code. It is possible that the error code is missing characters? I show that the error code "ES" or "CS" is valid. In the meantime, I suggest resetting your air conditioner. You can do this by flipping the household circuit breaker for roughly ten minutes. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, could you please inform me of the new error code or if your air conditioner continues to display "EC". I look forward to assisting you. -Matt

Subzero 690 flashing EC and service

If you replace the fan and clean the coils, and the refrigerator STILL does not cool, then contact SubZero or a service provider for an evaporator coil replacement.  Units manufacturer before mid-2003 had copper+aluminum coils that would corrode and allow all of the coolant to escape.  The (should be warranty) replacement is all aluminum.
Note the freezer does not have this issue due to the lack of liquid water.
