they do not work generally, can try blowing compressed air in bay, but not a lot short bursts and not so it causes frost. then wait a min . Also make sure you have no scratches on disk. Can use brasso LIGHTLY to resurface a disk
Hi, According to experts, error 5 on the player means that the player is reading the cd upside down or it cannot read the disc. you may need to run a cd cleaner ten check if it can read the cd again or if not you may need to take the player apart to clean it manually. Cheers!!
The skipping happens because the lens is weak,to solve this problem open the cd player so you can see the lens.Clean the lens with cotton wool dabbed in a little methylated spirit(wipe carefully). This should stop the skipping.
If the skipping continues then the lens is too weak to play CD's so it is best that you change the lens of your CD player.
Looks that your player needs a adjustment, or you have dirty lasersliders. There are two chrome sliders besides the laserunit, sometimes there's some dust on it. You can clean it with a cottontip dipped in pure alcohol (96% or more). You can grease it again with just a little bit of teflon oil (also on a cottontip).
