You need a maxtor driver, or change to another port.
BIOS configuration for less speed, verify IRQ conflicts. or other device using same resources.

two solutions:
1-boot your windows from "Safe Mode". then download and install a driver for your DVD Drive.
(sometimes windows crashes because of installing new devices like motherboard or CPU)
2-reinstall your operating system (OS).
it is rare that an OS Crashes by installing a new DVD DRIVE!

Video drivers crashing (BSOD) Dell Optiplex 360 w/ Vista Ultimate

I would recommend updating the BIOS, it does not list any compatibilty for Nvidia Video cards but it could fix the issue.

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R254813&SystemID=PLX_360&servicetag=&os=WLH&osl=en&deviceid=17774&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=4&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=1&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=373471

If this does not fix the issue can you please provide the following information:

1. What versoin of windows are you using? (XP, Vista or Windows 7)
2. Did you disable the on board video?
3. The blue screen error message

Blue screen appears and windows has crashed

Boot into safe mode by pressing F8 repeatedly as the computer boots until you get to the advanced start up menu. Choose safe mode and either roll back your video driver or use a system restore point.
