Question about Vacuums

Open Question

November 2008 I bought a Simac Stirella 9000D steam generator iron. Recently its been leaking water out the bottom of the regenerator. It makes a noise when it is trying to get the steam to the iron and it works then but afterwards when the noise stops it stops steaming and I find a puddle of water underneath the regenerator. Also a little steam comes out of the water tank at the top. I understand this is happening because of scale in the base unit. Can I get something to get rid of the scale? - I know this isnt normally necessary but its stopping the water getting to the iron. I have only regenerated the filter twice in 20 months probably should have done it more as the test said every 6 months! Also as I was getting some scale coming out of the iron started to use half tap water and half distilled water as it worked well with my ordinary steam iron Is there anything I can do to sort out my iron?

SOURCE: Polti Vaporetto 2400: Water out light comes on when tank is full

Hi you need to put 5ml of Kal Stop fo Polti machines into 1000/1500ml of water into the tank, The stronger solution is better (1000ml) Let it heat up and this should break down the limescale on the solenoid. I tried this today and it has worked saving ££££'s in repair by Polti.

SOURCE: Using my hoover steam vac tonight and too much

make sure that you have filled everthing properly and the hoover steam is in a good condition. or check else is there any loose coonections in the bottom of the hoover, which makes the tank empty.
if the problem persists take it to service.

SOURCE: I have a stirella dual

It sounds like the steam valve inside the iron is stuck open. You have to take the iron apart and free it up by lightly scraping water deposits off it with a screwdriver.

Simac evt 100 steam cleaner

Try taking the steam head apart and cleaning. If difficult to remove, fill a basin with white vinegar & a small amount of water and let it soak to remove the built up deposits in the system. Remember to only use distilled water when steaming to avoid build up.

We had this problem whilst still in warranty. Without question they sent a new iron. We have only used the di-ionised water in the new one making descaling much less painful

I have a SIMAC steam iron that isn't performing well at the moment. I think it needs descaling as it is making a large whistling sound when I turn it on and it has heated up. Can someone tell me what...

To clean the reservoir of your iron, pour a solution that is one part vinegar to one part water in. Turn the iron on. Allow it to steam for about four minutes. Drain the iron for an hour, and be sure to repeat the process with clean water before you iron any clothing items.
