On that model it may be the flyback or the Horizontal output or Both. Comon on that chassis. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Toshiba 50A61 have sound but no picture - all fuses check okay

Not too many--if sound is developed from the set and not a surround system the set will blank the 3 picture tubes for a few reasons:

Voltages missing at the tubes (high voltage or screen voltages etc)

There is a loss of vertical sweep or horizontal sweep--set will do here this to prevent an INSTANT burn mark on all 3 tubes.

One thing you can try to look for is to see if the filament in each tube is lit---rather dim as 6.3 volt one---if lit the above reasons are your problem.

Without a meter, a schematic etc not much more you can check.

You should hear a faint whoosh sound when you power the set on--the high voltage coming up.

Have a Toshiba TP50G50 Projection televison with no picture. Have 100 volts to power board

100 volts is too low to power the entire projection TV. Usually with rear projection TVs there are three tubes that create your picture on the screen. To power those tubes, they each require a high voltage (usually around 10,000 volts - yes ten thousand) that is produced by a high-voltage step-up transformer call a 'Tripler' - since it powers all three tubes. This device and the rest of the TV require full utility voltage (120 - 130 volts AC) to properly power the unit. Correct the voltage and try again - is the house / residence voltage like that in each room? IF so, you probably have other issues with devices you probably haven't picked up on.

No power to tv when i plug it in. don't know if all the way dead way to check it?

I really need the make and model number to help you.

My understanding of what you have said is that there is no standby light and no clicking sounds when you power on your unit. If this is true regardless of what type of tv it is there is a fair chance that the main ac line fuse is blown.

To determine if the line fuse is blown, remove the rear cover panel and follow the ac power cord to where it connects to the circuit board. The ac fuse is a small glass cylinder, about a half inch long. Replace the fuse with the same amperage and ignore the voltage rating. If the new fuse blows as well, your looking at involved circuit work which should be referred to an experienced repair technician.

Mitsubishi WS-65809 65 in. (Won't stay on)

Good Day, 4mlspro;
You can try this or call an Authorized Service Center and get an estimate on the repair, $450.00 to $650.00;
This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR LEAKY C9A60 470 PF 1000 V PART # 154P400030, PARALLEL TO D9A57 ON THE POWER PCB (NOT SHOWN IN THE SCHEMATIC). 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. 3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH.

No Power - DEAD after electrical storm

Good Day,
I can't tell you if it's worth it, but I can tell you an average repair for this TV is about $500.00. Does the led light up when power is pressed? If so press menu and input buttons both in together to see if the led will blink a two digit error code then let me know the results. Please respond to this same post.

Turns on but not picture or sound. Power LED blinks

Your set might not be producing the high voltage it needs to light up the screen , it might be missing the supply voltage the supply volts to the output transistor ,if this voltage is missing is because the transistor is likely bad(shorted) and it has opened a fuse or a safety resistor.If you are familiar with tv service you have a place to check but you are not too familiar be safe and call a professional,high volts circuits are dangerous.

DEAD TV

Is good you have checked the main fuse and is good,what that means is you have voltage going in but you loose it down the line,if you have no indication of power(no lights ,no clicks) you need to check if you have the 5 volts that power the microprocessor witch is the brain and it uses 5 volts to aperate,the 5 volts come from a 12 volt regulator so you will have 12 volts in one side and 5 volts in the other,if you have lights or clicks when you push the power button you have 5 volts but one of the other voltages is missing,Check the horizontal output transistor for a short,if it is bad it likely cooked the safety resistor that gives him the voltage.If you are familiar with tv service you have a place to start but if you are not too familiar be safe and call for assistance from a servicer.Let us know if you need more information or how it went.
