sorry i might of mislead you the computor turns on and the toshiba screen shows but then we get text ssyaing they apologize for the inconvience, but windows did not start successfully recent hardware or software might of caused this.then you get four options safe mode start up which i have tried and it runs script then stops with the screen showing script but goes no furhter.then safemode with networking then safe mode with command prompt,i have tried starting it using the last setting that worked but it doesnt work ,and then it counts down from 30 to 0 and then still nothing happens.

-since you are unable to restart the unit, it is possible that the unit freeze and was not able to respond in any key that you press, the only possible way is to terminate the power by pressing the power button within 6seconds..

    thank you

    - you must have a Original windows installer with you, its either Windows Professional / Home Edition..

If you still need an step by step instruction on how to install windows let me know..

No. you cannot use the Office XP installer that you have to re install windows xp.. you should have the installer to re-install the windows. We can never go on to the process to install your software if you don't have the disc with you...

Anyway you can place an order HERE if you don't have one ready there -or- if you have a friend got a copy, maybe you can borrow the CD from him..

    Please let me know again..

Will not connect to internet. connection shown as excellent, set up disc has been inserted to try and fix the problem but still will not connect. Item is 4-5 yrs old

There are many reasons we lose wireless connectivity. I would first start by clearing your cookies, history, and Temporary Internet files under tools menu if using IExplorer. Then do a disk cleanup.
Make sure your switch is on. You may also want to unplug your modem and restart both your pc and modem. Does your pc recognize any available networks at all. Make sure you don't have 2 firewalls going. Make sure your wireless card is active. you may want to activate it under CONTROL PANEL, ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS SERVICES, then go to Wireless Zero Configuration. under recovery tab make sure all drop down menus say restart the system under all failures apply. Also try typing a different url in address bar. Hope this helps,

Tecra m1 password

You can try this solution from the toshiba forums
" try using recovery disc,

turn on computer> keep tapping f12> boot menu> choose cd /dvd> will load disc> choose system recovery option> next> system restore

wait for menu and hit next and choose date your son able to use or logon using original password."

or you can call toshiba to have them walk you through how to reset this.  (United states toll free number to Toshiba Customer support)
Computers: (800) 457-7777
I am not sure about the details.  I know you were referring to an earlier post, but I do not know what you have tried so far.

Unable to reboot from recovery disc

if yo want to load the recovery disc, you need to find a way to open your cd drive and place the recovery disc in there. then turn the computer off, leave it for 5 seconds, turn it on again, press F8 continuously and choose 'boot from cd'. follow the instructions on screen. if this still does not work, you may need to upgrade ram, or you have bad sectors on your harddrive that has been caused by corrupt programs or viruses. Hope this helped.

Memory upgrade

if the problem sounds as it seems, you need to take the ram that you put in out, see if it turns on. if not, you may need to replace the battery. the laptop will not work on the charger itself, that ay be the problem.
