This printer and this software (on your laptop) want to hold hands directly ... not through a proxy. You have solved your own issue ... plug the Lex into the new computer.

    Dear Starchild 768,

I am very sorry you feel this way. There was no intention of 'dis'-respecting you because of your question or any other reason. I suggested you use the Lexmark printer while directly attached to the new computer. I had presumed at that time you had done all your 'homework' and that everything (all hardware) was designed to work together. My presumption was there was some type of network and the printer was connected to the other computer. I presumed you had properly loaded the Lexmark software. I presumed you were knowledgable as to what you were doing.

In your question, YOU say nothing about the first computer, except there is one ... make nor model nor operating system, type or style you are using. I addressed your question which said the new computer 'supports Windows 7' (I presume you meant Windows 7 came pre loaded on the new computer) ... yYOU don't say it is a laptop, desktop, note pad, tower, etc. You hint your computer is telling you there is a problem using the printer over a network. I presumed you had a network because you used the word "host". You fail to identify the structure or nature of the connection. Is it Peer to Peer? Client - Server? Is it wired? Wireless? Is it serial? Is it null modem? Is it a combo? There are other possibilities also ... YOU fail to say.

I suggest to you, my friend, there is a possibility your Lexmark may not be supported under Windows 7. Though I did not look at that time - I have looked now. I went tohttp://www.microsoft.com/windows/compati...

That didnt work either ... here is the balance of my remarks ... hopefully ...

I see there are drivers for 32 bit and 64 bit listed for Lexmark printers. YOU failed to identify which version you are using - so I looked at both 32 and 64. According to MS, your printer is not supported under the 64 bit OS. Under the 32 bit OS there are three listing, close: Z5100, Z5470 and Z6100. Is yours any of these with in the range you list of 5600 to 6600? Did you bother to check this yourself?

There is that possibility I missed finding your printer on the list ... it was not for lack of effort on my part ... more likely ... due to a lack of proper information which only YOU can provide.

I next went to www.Lexmark.com/Products and searched for your printer based on the information YOU provided ... there is no 5600 nor 6600 printer.

Since YOU failed to provide complete information - I am unable to give a full, complete and comprehensive answer to you. Normally, the people who come here just need pointed in a direction ... they do not require great detail.

Now, Mr. or Miss. 'I been on the scene since September 2010 and have not solved any problems for anyone', when you ask for free help and get free help from someone, consider the reply before you blast them. Everyone here who answers questions is a unpaid volunteer as far as I know ... be nice to us or take a hike.

New laptop with windows 7 won't print to Lexmark x7350. says to enable bidirectional support - but that option is grayed out.

Make sure to use the correct printer driver version for your operating system. You may need to uninstall your existing printer driver first before downloading the new driver. Go to Start menu > Programs > Lexmark 7300 Series > Tools > Uninstall. After the uninstall process, reboot pc when prompted.
When your computer turns on, go to Start menu > right-click on Computer > Properties. Check the System Type. Note: Use Vista driver in Windows 7.
Use the links below to download and install the printer driver: - Lexmark X7350 Driver for Vista/Win7 32-bit - Lexmark X7350 Driver for Vista/Win7 64-bit
Follow the instructions on your computer screen.

My mom got a new computer with windows 7 and she has a lexmark 1200 series all-in-one printer. The CD will not work on her new computer. What can I do to install this printer on her new computer.

Lexmark has discontinued this printer and last Operating system supported was xp. I have found site that says that they have windows 7 drivers but have never used this site before. i would scan all the files for possible viruses just in case.
http://www.siliconguide.com/drivers/device/113/

Now on contrary this Microsoft site says that windows 7 does not need drivers installed form a CD because it will automatically install what it needs. You might have to reboot after plugging in usb. I"t says it is same for 32 bit and 64 bit version.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=Lexmark%20X1270%20All-In-One%20Printer&v=Lexmark&uid=17M4286&pf=0&pi=0&s=lexmark%20x1270&os=64-bit

Hope this helps.

Need lexmark x5150 software download for windows 7

First check the microsoft compatability list to see if your printer is supported. If it is listed, 7 should drive it. Find the list at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

Failing that, visit www.lexmark.com/support - search your printer to find your driver ... not listed, your options become: 3rd party driver (hard to find), e-mail Lexmark (easy to do), replace the device or run it on a non Windows 7 computer and share it on your network.
