Ripping Disney CD

I'm trying to rip my daughter's Hannah Montana CD. When I put it in the computer's CD drive all I get is a dialogue box that will take me to their website etc. The "help" function in that dialogue box suggests how to get the CD to play on the computer if you're having trouble (go to 'run" and type cdplayer.exe - didn't work.)
How to I rip this CD that we legally purchased and now want to put on an MP3????

Some CD's are protected and will not let you rip them to your computer. You may be able to find programs that can get around it, but they are probably illegal.

HOW TO TRANSFER MUSIC FROM CD TO DEVICE

CD to MP3 FreeRIP MP3 is basically a CD ripper, thus it is a software that can convert audio CD to MP3 or to other audio files (like WMA, WAV, Ogg Vorbis or FLAC). This operation is known as "cd ripping", that's why to access audio CD to MP3 converter mode, you have to run FreeRIP and select View->Ripper menu option.
Once you are in CD Ripper mode, put the Audio CD in your PC CD drive, wait for about 10 seconds to let it spin up, and then click on the File->Refresh CD menu option.
Then select the tracks you want to convert to MP3 and select, from the Rip menu the right option in order to convert them. Example: if you want to convert your cd to mp3 audio tracks, simply select Rip->Rip Selected Tracks to MP3 menu option.

How do i put songs on my xbox

Follow these steps :
1.
Burn CDs. The easiest way to put music on your Xbox 360 is to rip CDs from your own collection. Simply insert your favorite CD in you Xbox 360 and then pull up the secondary menu with the Xbox logo button. Then select "Rip CD" from the menu to transfer the tracks from the CD to your Xbox hard drive.
2.
Sync your computer with your Xbox 360. If you have Windows XP Media Edition or Windows Vista (any edition) and a wireless connection your computer will be able to detect your Xbox 360 and can share media with it. Simply find the "Windows Media Extension" tool on your PC and follow the prompts to stream video to your Xbox 360.

Windows Vista Premium. Trying to rip a cd to my computer. Unable to do so. CD plays fine if i play music from the cd itself. Tried Itunes 1st. Rips about 12 secs of audio for each song. Says complete....

maybe the windows has this security issues. coz from my point of view windows vista is dedicated on security. so that's why you cannot rip most of the songs very well.

I have put a cd onto my computer as a folder how

You will have to convert the audio CD to mp3 before you can load it on your phone. Open Windows Media Player, go to tools (right click on the top bar if the menu is not available), and click options. Under the RIP tab, change the format to MP3 and select the quality you want (suggest middle of slider bar). Click OK and insert your CD. Now click on the RIP tab at the top of Media Player and rip the tracks you want to your computer. After you do this, you can then copy the newly created MP3 files to your phone.

I tried to make an exact copy of a CD via Sony Vaio but the copy is messed up. Certain cuts sound scratched. The original CD is clean and plays normally. Does my CD drive need fixing? It (software)...

What type of CD did you copy? Different CD types have different methods for copying them (Example: a music CD has multiple tracks to copy; better to rip them then reburn them onto a blank disk; a DVD disk has multiple data, video and audio files protected on the disk, a straight copy wont work). Based on your question, you tried copying a music CD. Use a program like Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, or iTunes to rip the disk, then copy the ripped tracks to a blank disk. All three of these programs are free, and there are tons of other free alternatives out there to do this.

Question about hard drives setups

1. No you do not put the operating system on the slave drive. It will just appear as an empty drive that you can store data on.
2. No, just copying all the files over will not make the slave drive a bootable windows drive unless you use a special program that actually clones the drive. Yes, all the files will be there but it doesn't have the master boot record which tells the computer how to boot the drive; in other words the drive would not be bootable.

Thanks and please take a moment to give this answer a rating of fixya. Thanks :c)

if it is the only process that freezes up you should re-install your "ripping" software. If the whole computer freezes up you need more ram or need to free up some memory. You may have too much going on when ripping.
