### How o figure sq ft of my home and bedroom

a square foot measurement is the product of the length by the width (breadth) or the room or building
If the room is 10 ft wide by 10 ft long it is 100 square feet in area
If it 10 ft long by 30 ft wide it is 130 square feet in area
really this is grade 1 maths
so to make it easy for you ,take a tape measure and measure the dimensions and multiply them using a calculator and the answer is in square ft

### I have a Maytag window unit and i am trying to find out how many btu is has. right now it is in a small room and i want to know if it will work in a bigger size room. MODEL M6Q1OF2A SERIAL CR 264327...

that is a 10000 btu unit and a good rule of thumb to go by when 'sizing' a unit is 12000 btu for every 600 sq ft of cooling space (if the place is well insulated) or 400 sq ft (if not well insulated).
So, you have a 10000 btu unit which is 5/6th of 12000 btu - so - can reasonably expect that unit to cool approximately 500 sq feet.
In other words the room it's in now could be only - say - 300 sq feet (and well insulated) - in which case the AC unit is cooling it - well.
However, if you try to cool a 800 sq ft room - it will not work as well.
Hope this has helped.

### I have a brand new Sherman Timeoff Water Timer Model 500 in a box, but there are no instructions. Can you help?

It appears that you turn the dial to any setting from 1 to 13 depending upon how much water you want the timer to dispense. The numbers show relative amounts from 100 total gallons to 400 total gallons, then the timer shuts off.

### Room temp stays at 76 and will not get any colder even though unit seems to operate and compressor sounds like it turns on and fan blows and water drains . it is set to 60. room is about 300 sq ft

Hi,
From what you are describing the unit is working perfectly...You just have alot of heat infiltration and the best that unit can do is 76....
If you want or need it cooler you will need to buy a larger size unit...

### Ge jsp42 electric range ..Oven heats up very slowly..sometimes can take one hour to heat to 400 degrees..Stove top also slow..

Check the voltage at the outlet. It should be 208v or 240v. check by putting meter probe into the 2/3 slots. NOT the U shaped,or round looking holes.Check one to another. Check tag on range for voltage of range. If you have 208v at the outlet and range is 240v the oven will take forever to heat, it is not getting the power it needs. If the tag says 230v either will work. On the oven tag it will say either 1ph, or 3ph. If it says 3ph you outlet should have the voltage mentioned above between ALL 3 SLOTS! If you get 120v when testing any slot, you have only 1ph of power. Keeping it simple, the ph, (or phase,) between the outlet and oven have to be the same.
