Try:
- moving some of the things off of your desktop, into a folder elsewhere on your computer
then
- Hit command-J at the desktop (or view > show view options) and at the "Arrange By" menu, choose "Name". This will make sure that everything comes back on to your desktop in an orderly fashion if some of the icons are pushed out of the way.

Might be someone's prank or you could have mistakenly unhide your desktop icon.. You can try unhiding the Desktop icons.

Right click on Desktop, Go to "Arrange icons by" and check mark/click on "Show desktop icons"

If this doesnt help, might be someone deleted/moved your desktop items and uncheck options from customized desktop. Or finally some softwares to unhide desktop icons.( if prank) check your add remove programs

Right click on desktop and click on properties, below windows will open uup-> go to "Desktop", below click on "Customized",-> and select options you want to see on desktop

You should use an AMD Athlon64x2 4000+/4400+/4800+/5000+/5200+. You are trying to usehttp://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103687 if I am not mistaken, which would not be compatible according tohttp://support.acer.com/acerpanam/desktop/0000/Acer/AspireL5100/AspireL5100sp2.shtml

Most monitors have an auto button try that first. If not there will be a menu button which brings up the on screen display + and - moves the selector and there is normally an enter button to the select which item you want to change then use the + and - to adjust.

Dell's web-site has a "automatically detect my system" which will determine the Dell Service Tag, and display it. Or, start your computer, and enter BIOS SETUP. Browse through the various menu items, and the Dell Service Tag will be displayed.

Blank screen when I log on - no desktop

Did you accidentally uncheck the desktop and start menu. On desktop screen, right click your mouse, then select properties or personalize, then goto taskbar and start menu. See if you put a check the AUTO HIDE THE TASKBAR. This item should be uncheck and other item should be with a check mark.

If this doesn't work then something in your system have a virus infection, it might be.

GIGABYTE X1300PRO GRAPHIC CARD

On many portable computers and some desktop computers (those with two video ports on one video card), you can expand your display to a second monitor by using Dualview. Dualview is very similar to the multiple monitor feature, with the exception that you cannot select the primary display. On a portable computer, the primary monitor is always the LCD display screen. On a desktop computer, it is the monitor attached to the first video out port.
Once you attach the second monitor and turn on your computer, use Display in Control Panel to configure your settings, just as you do with multiple monitors. Dualview can be used with docked or undocked portable computers

This procedure applies when two or more monitors are connected to one computer.
  1. Open Display in Control Panel.
  2. On the Settings tab, click Identify to display a large number on each of your monitors, showing which monitor corresponds with each icon.
  3. Click the monitor icons and drag them to positions that represent how you want to move items from one monitor to another, and then click OK or Apply to view changes.
Notes
  • To open Display, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.
  • The icon positions determine how you move items from one monitor to another. For example, if you are using two monitors and you want to move items from one monitor to the other by dragging left and right, place the icons side by side. To move items between monitors by dragging up and down, place the icons one above the other. The icon positions do not have to correspond to the physical positions of the monitors. You can place the icons one above the other even though your monitors are side by side
