I followed partricias solution but still my imaging studion will not load

Teifion Thomas:

If you did the complete install of the software, then the program is there, you just don't have a shortcut icon on your desktop. You'll have to click on "start" then find the folder that contains your imaging studio software executable file (when you double click on that icon, imaging studio comes up on the screen). resize the window so that you can see part of your desktop behind the current window, left click on the executable file icon and drag it to the desktop and release the mouse button. Click on create shortcut and you'll have an icon for your imaging studio on your desktop.

Unable to burn discs using Corel Video Studio X2. Program all OK until final phase of burning. Using Windows 7 on new PC. Could problem be Windows 7? Any help appreciated.

Make sure that you have all the patches installed from Corel's site, there is a known issue that the buttons will not show up on Windows 7 unless you have the latest patch.

If you have all the update installed there could be a few different issues.

1. update direct x from Microsoft
2. Make sure your video card drivers are up to date
3. Try rendering the project first and then burn the rendered file to the DVD
4. Try burning a Disc image, the option is on the final burn screen, if you are able to create the disc image try a different burning software that you may have installed on the system

My computer will not bring up the webcam so i can record videos. I go to control panel -> scanners and cameras -> then i double click on the Logitech quickcam Express and it says its a digital camera...

When you downloaded the logitech software you had the option to have a desktop icon for the webcam toolbar
If you did not take up this option you will have to create a toolbar shortcut from "All Programs"
Scan the programs to find Logitech and click on the folder to open it.
Look for "Logitech webcam software" with a webcam icon in front.
Right click > Send to > Desktop - create shortcut

Launch the toolbar and click on the "Quick Capture" menu ( 2 film frames picture with a head and shoulders on one frame)
Your snapshots and videos can be recorded from here

I just upgraded the software for my Logitech Pro webcam. Now a help window launches with the webcam software leaving a white window on my desktop and I can't get rid of it. At best I can minimize it.

Are you in windos 7 or? It may have a conflict with your old program. Try erasing your old program or maybe your computer is not ready for that upgrade?

Possible to install Windows XP on an Acer 5532?

Yes you could but Acer won't support it. You either have Vista or 7 in it. If Vista, update to 7 and be done with it.
If you want XP, first copy a full image of your present OS on a external drive using a program like Acronis True Image Home. Then reformat your hard drive when doing an XP install. Do you have a full version XP install disk?

Can you use the logitech quickcam express camera to take videos? & how?

You will need the software that came with the camera, Image Studio. The software contains a menu that lets u open up a program to record video using the webcam. You can download the webcams software from the provided link
http://www.softwarepatch.com/utilities/l...
If u have the software for the cam then all u do is install it and select Image Studio, from there u have a menu that says take a picture or record a video, select the video. The button ontop of the cam is to take pictures.
Not sure if this is the model

If the Image studio doesn't open then all u do is open up Logitech Gallery..

QuickCam Express, blurry, snowy picture...sometimes the picture is totally shaded red

Hi,

Many factors can affect the image quality of your pictures. If you are experiencing blurry images, please try adjusting the focus ring located around the lens.

This will allow you to focus the camera image on objects at different distances.

Also, make sure there is good lighting. Improving the lighting conditions can improve the image quality considerably.

Connection Issues:

If the image quality is poor while transmitting video over the Internet using video enabled programs such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo! or AOL Instant Messenger, your connection speed to the Internet directly affects the image quality of the transmitted video.

Corporate LAN, DSL/cable modem connections will result in the best image quality experience, while dial-up connections may result in choppy and overall poor quality because of the slower connection speed.

Even broadband connections such as DSL/cable modem may experience choppy video at times because of Internet traffic or slow upload speeds.

If the image appears clearly in the camera software, most likely your Internet connection may be responsible for the poor image quality in your video program.

Changing Display Adapter Settings:

If you are still experiencing a distorted, fuzzy or grainy image, you may need to change the settings for your display adapter.

For optimal image quality, please make sure the video display adapter is set to display at least 16-bit high color or higher.

To change the color palette please perform the following steps:

Click on "Start," "Settings," and "Control Panel."

Double-click on the Display icon.

Click on the tab labeled Settings.

In the dialog box labeled Color Palette, verify the video mode is set to 16-bit (high color) or 24-bit (true color).

Also, check with the manufacturer of the video card for updated video drivers.

Low Light Boost:

If you cannot do anything to improve the lighting situation, some Logitech video cameras have an option for "Low Light Boost."

If there is an option for "Low Light Boost," try enabling the "Low Light Boost" in the QuickCam software.

To do this:

Open the QuickCam software.

At the bottom right hand corner of the camera image box, click on the arrow next to the QuickCam icon.

Choose "Advanced Camera Settings".

Under the Image Enhancement box, place a check mark in the "Low Light Boost" option.

If that does not improve the image quality, try adjusting the other image settings, such as contrast, saturation brightness, gain and white balance.

Click OK when your are done.

Last, make sure that you ae using the latest drivers.

You can upodate them from here.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck.

Image stay still on screen

No, its not a Skype issue. You may just need to download the correct software for your Logitech camera. You can download it HERE.

Next do a clean install..This is different from a regular install. Please follow the procedure carefully.

Removing the software and reinstalling it using a "clean boot" may resolve the symptoms you are experiencing. Booting clean is a way to eliminate programs from conflicting with installation of software.

1. Unplug the camera from the computer. Later you will be prompted by the software to plug in the camera; do so at that time only.
2. Open the Windows Control Panel.
3. Open the Add / Remove Programs window.
4. Locate the listing for the software and remove it. When prompted to remove the camera drivers files, click Yes.

The following is the procedure for a 'clean boot'. I am assuming that you have XP. If you have a different OS, just let me know and I will send you the appropriate procedure to boot clean in that OS.

1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG --> Click OK
2. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
3. Uncheck Process SYSTEM.INI file
4. Uncheck Process WIN.INI file
5. Uncheck Load Startup Items
6. Click on the Services tab
7. At the bottom, check Hide All Microsoft Services
8. Uncheck all boxes in the window or click the button labeled Disable All
6. Click OK
7. Click Restart

After restarting, reinstall the downloaded software. Next, do the following:

1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG--> Click OK
2. Replace checkmarks in the items that you previously removed them from.
3. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
4. Click OK
5. Click YES, when asked to restart your computer

Hope that helps...Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. Before you assign a rating, please make sure that the issue is resolved or you are satisfied. If not, please post back as to what you did, and/or any other questions you may have, and I will try to assist you as best I can. Please do not assign an ‘Inappropriate’ or ‘Thanks for trying’ rating if your issue is not resolved after the first response itself, as sometimes a bit of to and fro dialogue may be necessary before we can find a fix or an answer to your query.

If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.

Thank you for using FIXYA!

Cheers!
