Low fuel pressure under load will cause a shutdown but will cause the governor actuator to hunt before it does shut down, check presssure and demand regulator

2010 CRV, just shy of 30,000 miles. Will not start. Has been in the repair shop 4 times in 7 or 8 months. New Alternator, new battery. What is causing this???

has there been any fault codes reported or has anybody bothered reading the fault codes
reasons for not starting include
cam/ crank position sensors--- broken wiring , faulty harness connections, sensor position adjustment incorrect
low fuel pressure --- pressure regulator problem, fuel pump relay problem, fuel pump
immobilizer problems --- fob battery low on charge , problem immobilizer system
ignition control module--- wiring , faulty internal components
gear position switch---park or neural out of adjustment--wiring problems
a battery may be causing the problem--- but check ground points for tight and clean-- if you are saying that occasionally it will not start, it could be a problem starter motor with a bad commutator bar
it has been back for a number of times but the replaced items indicate that the shop is using a replace parts to find the problem rather that a fault code systematic approach to trouble shooting and problem solving
might pay to find an accredited service shop with experience on your make of vehicle

Replace or remove cat.

Possible causes
- Intake air leaks
- Faulty front heated oxygen sensor
- Ignition misfiring
- Faulty fuel injectors
- Exhaust gas leaks
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Lack of fuel
- Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
- Incorrect Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose connection Help with this Tech notes
If the P0171 is combined with the P0174 code, it's very likely that the problem is caused by an intake leak. If there are no intake leaks, the next step is to replaced the air filter and clean the air flow meter. If the problem persist the front oxygen (O2) sensor may need to be replaced.
The P0171 code could also be caused may be caused by one or more of the following: debris on MAF sensor causing an incorrect reading, improper oil level, low or high fuel pressure or Engine Control Temperature (ECT) Sensor reading inaccurate.

Possible causes:
Clogged fuel filter Low fuel pump pressure
Defective Catalytic converter Defective EGR valve
Incorrect fuel pinched/kinked fuel line
Malfunctioning Throttle position sensor Defective MAP sensor
Vacuum leak
...if your check engine light is flashing, then you are burning excessive amounts of gas which would indicate a rich condition.
