Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC70 Digital Camera

1 Answer

When attempting to upload images onto the computer from the camera, when you click the removable disk drive for the camera it initially registers with the photos but seconds later the drive is empty (and also changes to a fat32 format).

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Can I upload pics from my computer back onto my nikons memory card?

I'd suggest not doing this. I'll attempt to explain why. Your camera processor and computer are working with different operating systems. When you load images to the computer Hard Drive those images now have "tags" from the computer. If you load these images even the original unaltered files back on the card the computer will use its programing to load the pictures to the media card. As far as the computer is concerned that card is an external storage device or portable Hard Drive. When the card is loaded back into the camera the camera processor/programing can't read the files and you will get a ton of error messages. To the camera the card it speaking to it in a foreign language.

I have a Sony Cyper-shot 6.o Mega Pixels camera (given to me with no manual) I've got the cord to connect camera to PC. I cannot figure out how to load the pictures from the camera onto my e-mail account.

The mamory card in the camera will show up as a "Removable Disk" on your computer.

1. Go to "My Computer". The camera will probably be Drive E.
2. Click on Drive E (or whatever the "removable disk" is) and open (click) any folders that show up. The pictures will be several folders down.
3. You can then copy these to your "My Pictures" folder in "My Documents" or "browse" to that drive when you want to attach a picture to your email

Hope this helps!

Can't upload movie onto computer...HELP!

Hello JKelley,
When you connect the camera to your computer using the USB cable, wait for few seconds for the computer to recognize the new member.. Now check under "My computer" ... You will have a new drive letter that represents your camera.
Double click on the camera drive letter and open it up as you normally do with other drives .. You can copy the images or videos from the drive to your computers desktop.

Let me know if that was helpful and Do not forget to rate the solution as "Fixya" :)
All the best for your Presentation.

Thanks and Regards,
Srinivas.

use the usb charger and connect it to your computer, turn on your camera and choose connect to computer then click ok/menu,

on your computer click on my computer and double click on the drive that says removable disk (F:), then it will upload all the pictures to your computer you can only view and delete, but if you want to save it to y our computer you have to select all the pictures right click on the mouse and choose copy and save it to your computer or make a new folder on the deskstop.

Problem with transfering images onto my Windows 98

you might have to remove the driver in safe mode of windows 98.

then reinstall the drivers for the camera after removal.

also look in the control panel for add/remove program and look for your camera drivers

if they are there remove them, and reinstall the drivers.

also there are some computer where the usb port could be failing, try the camera on another computer, but i really would suggest a card reader for camera, since it take away the wear and tear of the camera by hooking it up and turning it on for transferring the files. i just use a card reader, and just used the camera to take pictures.

Downloading to computer

Cliff notes version: Try it with the "Solution Disk" in the drive.

Detailed version: I had the same problem, but when I re-installed the "Solution Disk", it said, LEAVE THE DISK IN THE DRIVE. I turned my camera on -- connected to the computer and with the disk in the drive -- and the program started automatically, instructing me to click on the Upload button, which looks like a printer with a cable coming off it (it's to the right of the Delete button and underneath the slide-control that shifts from Camera mode to Preview on my A570IS; it will light up when it's ready).

Before uploading . . . Click on Menu (on camera) to verify your Direct Transfer options. Mine was set on Wallpaper, so it only uploaded the one image and automatically set it as my computer wallpaper. (A neat feature, but not what I was looking for.) Set it to "All images" or "New images" and click on the Upload (lit up) button on the camera.

Note: If it doesn't come up automatically, start the ZoomBrowser program and click on Tasks (to show the menu options below it). The first option is Acquire & Camera Settings; click on that. Then click on the appropriate item (Connect to Camera, Connect to EOS Camera, or Acquire images from Memory Card). You can set it to automatically launch by clicking that option on the main software page.

Finally . . . After it's working, confirm/modify your Preferences in the ZoomBrowser and Utility programs; even if you don't change anything, this will let you know how it's set up.

Can't upload video on PC

the computer might not automatically upload the file. it will detect the hardware, but not necessarily start uploading. if you have xp, try going into movie maker which is in your program list in the start menu. on the left hand side there is a few blue sentences, one is import video, another is import video from device. if you have your camera connected to the computer through firewire and have your camera on the vcr/playback mode, open movie maker and click import video from device, the computer will have already detected your camera, so the first option your given in the next screen should have the make and model of your camera to upload from.
