Plz tell me how format my compaq 5441 pc?

Hi,

In order to format your laptop, you need to secure first your Operating System CD and the drivers for your laptop. Next, you have to back-up your files. Put them somewhere like an external drive for easy retrieval later.

After you've done this, you are now ready to go.

Here are the steps:
1) Insert the OS cd in your cd/dvd rom.
2) Restart your laptop.
3) While your laptop is still booting, press the key that will enable the bott sequence set-up.
4) Once the boot sequence shows up, choose CD/DVD Drive and press enter.
5) The next screen that will appear will be a blue screen with white text below. This means you have entered your OS CD already.
6) From there, you'll be guided with step by step instructions so you won't be lost. Just read it carefully.

Note: After successfully formatting your laptop, you need to install all your drivers.

Hope this helps.

Just get back here if you have follow-up questions.

Thanks!

Just reset your logon password. You can get a Password Reset disc download and burn to CD. Copy/paste the address below, into your address bar of your browser.
http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/cd080802.zip
Download this file and burn it to CD. Put into drive and turn on PC, and boot from the CD. Follow instructions, choose the correct USER. & BLANK the password. make sure you say OK to write the data, and reboot. The logon password will now be reset blank.

Unknown power-on password on hp dc5750 desktop

Sounds like somone has put What they call a bios/boot user password this is a password thatis used before windows even loads up.

If no one will tell you the password the only other way i know of to reset the password is to open the computer case and remove the CMOS battery which is a CM2032 button batter you cant miss it

Remove that battery and remove power to the case for a few minutes then replace the battery and power back on.

Dell Optiplex GX280 Bluescreen and Hardrive problem

Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.

Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.

When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.

If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.

When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.

At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r , and then press ENTER.

At the command prompt, type exit , and then press ENTER to restart your computer.

The system should boot back into Windows.

If that doesn't work follow the above steps again but after you type the Administrator password ...

At the command prompt, type fixmbr and continue the next two steps.

THIS SOLUTION IS ONLY FOR A DAMAGED FILE SYSTEM.
