It sounds like you may have a loose or broken wire, check for power in the circuitry and see where the power cuts off.

sorry to not be more help, I assume also that the light bulb sockets are clean, Start with them and test for power and follow the wires back to the board and wherever there is a connection, check it for power. You may just end up rewiring the light bulbs. The obvious spot with multiple lightbulbs to check is where the wires meet and towards the board. Please let me know if you are still having trouble. Perhaps if you take some pictures and post them here I could see what the problem may be otherwise.

Good luck and feel free to present any other questons that you may have.

You also used the same exact light bulbs correct? Make sure that they are the same length on the socket end.

Seems you have already done alot, have you checked the wireing from the bulbs to the mainboard / switch ?

You might be better off contacting a qualifyed service to have it checked out as you have already done alot and its still not working.

On a Kenmore side by side refrigerator that has two light bulb sections, what causes the lights not to work?

The door switch provides a source of power to two things. Yes the door switch can be bad. What is your model number? There was some models that left the lights on when the door was closed and people would unscrew the bulbs just to sell them to people unaware. That problem was related to a bad relay on the motherboard

GE Monogram ZV950S D2SS range hood - lights on one side stopped working then on both sides. This happened as I was changing bulbs. Everything else works.

Light doesn't work
  1. Light bulb
If your refrigerator light does not power on, the first thing to replace would logically be the light bulb itself.
  1. Light assembly
If your refrigerator light does not power on and you have replaced the bulb, this is an indication that the light assembly may have malfunctioned and will require replacement.
  1. Light switch
If you notice that your refrigerator lights are not working, replace your refrigerator light bulb. If this does not correct the issue, proceed to check the power light switch.
  1. Door switch
If your refrigerator light is not working and it is not the bulb itself or the power light switch, the next thing to check is the door switch. This can be checked for continuity with an ohm meter. If there is no continuity present, the door switch will need to be replaced.
  1. Light socket
If your refrigerator light is not working after replacing the light bulb, check for a possible damaged light socket. If the socket is faulty, replace the part to get your refrigerator light to power on again.
  1. Light board
If the refrigerator light is not working the light board could be defective. The LEDs on this board are not repairable, so the entire board will need to be replaced.

Replace door switch

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

Before you change you door light switch. Lets check it out. First, if you have changed the light bulb, did you use a refrigeration light bulb. These bulbs sometimes are available in your local food market. If you used a household light bulb it eventually will fail. The household bulb is not designed for cold temperatures.

All appliances require specific light bulbs designed to the application such as, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, clothes washers and dryers. Of course they are more expensive $8.00-$10.00.

Ok, lets assume you have the correct appliance light bulb in your refrigerator. With the door open push on the door light switch. If the light comes on your door switch.

All door switches are basically the same they are plastic two contacts, except for one that is a 3 contact switch. The third contact controls the ice dispenser. This switch is on the left side of the freezer wall (Liner).

Ok, lets change a door light switch. Unplug your refrigerator. With a small flat head screw driver (or butter knife) wedge behind the plastic switch frame. Pop it out. Be careful, do not pull it out too far. You will see the two connectors. It may be difficult to remove the connector, so wedge them with a flat head screw driver (Or butter knife). Do not pull on the wires, just the metal connector.

Ok, with your particular model the contact switch is on the top of your unit. There are two screws holding the hinge cover plate. These screws are either Phillips head or hex head. Either 1/4" or 5/16" hex head. Remove the hinge top cover. You have one on each side. There is a connector. With a small screw driver, wedge into the connector to release it. The rest is yours.

Light burnt out , front left side . Replaced wtih a new bulb. Still does not go on. Is there a fuse for this somewhere? J. Emanuel

Often busted bulb and replacing it will solve the problem, but with yours it's already other problem.
Check door switch, defective door switch will cause that. Other do have fuse other don't have check it at the back of the refrigerator.
Good luck.

Light bulb does not work

go to this site Parts & Accessories | Shop & Find Lawn & Garden, Appliance Parts at Sears PartsDirect | SearsPartsDirect.com put your model number in and you can look up your fridge,if you changed the bulb and it didn't work you could have a bad socket that the bulb goes into or a bad door switch, try pushing the door switch in and out to see if it will work or try unscrewing the bulb you might of not put it in staight or check the socket with a meter to make sure you have power there,go to that site you can look up the door switch and the socket if you need to order them, good luck

Light Out

Either the door switch is broken or the light socket center connection tabs are bent too far in. Seeing as all the lights are out at the same time my money is on the door switch. It just pushes in and can be removed with a plastic putty blade.
