Sound not working

It says I have no sound device and I have tried downloading drivers(even from threads from here) and it still ceases to work. Where can I get a audio device for this computer?

Hi have you the driver cd for it ? if yes reinstall from that .
or try going into control pannel click hardware / sound . scroll down to device manager click on this . the problem will be indicated by a yellow warning sign right click this and update drivers .
there is one more thing to try you must down load from the net a program called driver genious 2007 this program will find any driver problems you may have and locate them from the net and install all the drivers to make your pc runs smoothly this is the best program on the market to solve any driver prblems ok

hi thanks for letting me know .

right here we go win xp pro 1.5gig cpu i see no problems in your sys running infact it should handle most software with ease on your main board there should be a sound device already in stalled if this has failed then the most commen thing to do is install a new sound card on the board if you have tryed and failled in the first solution that i have given you then this is the only option left to you buying a new soud card and installing it to your main board just like what you would do if you was going to put a modem in ok .

what your wanting is a sound blaster 5.1 digital sound card as i think ebay is easyer you can get the card from there or try your local pc shop or pc world shop they will most def have what you need when your installing it follow the installing info on the box this will come with a installing cd that will make the sound on your pc even more fantastic

i do hope this helps you in fixing your problem im so sorry that it has taken a long time to get there but sometimes we are faced with some tricky problems to fix

if this has not solved your problem then by all means do keep asking and im sure that someone may have a solution to your problem

all the best hope it works for you

    thanks again

Audio/volume problem

First, go to control panel - > Audio devices, then right-click any empty spot on the sound device, and show disabled or disconnected devices. If "Speakers" shows up, right-click and choose set as default (or something similiar). If this does not work, just reinstall your audio drivers. Right-click my computer -> Properties -> Hardware - > Device manager - > Sound, then find the sound cards manufacturer name, and right-click an press uninstall.

No sound driver working on my gateway notebook pc

Did you check the Device Manager, the audio driver, has it a yellow ? against it or is it OK and enabled? If it is has the MUTE button been ticked?
If it has a yellow ? against the audio driver then the correct audio driver was not installed. Go to the Gateway Support/download page to download the correct XP driver for your model laptop's audio device and install it.
If the sound still doesn't work check Device Manager to see if the driver was installed and working.

The Internal Mic In My Dell Inspiron 1525 Isnt Picking Up Sound??

You need to set the internal mic as the default input device. To check this Right click on the sound icon next to the time and select Recording properties. In the Recording properties right click on Arrey Microphone and select set as default. If this does not help. Uninstall and reinstall the sound drivers. To uninstall the sound drivers click on start and type DEVICE. Open device manager from the results and then look for sound devices. Click on the Plus sign next to Saound and audio devices. Right click on the SigmaTel entry there and select uninstall. Put a check on remove this driver from the computer. Once done restart the computer and go to and click on Drivers and Downloads. Enter your system service tag and download the Sigmatel audio drivers and install them. Check if the MIC works after the restart. If the Arrey microphone is set as the default and you have uninstalled and resinstalled the drivers and it does not work in MSN try recording with the Windows sound recorder and see if it works there. To open the sound recorder click on start and type SOUND. Open sound recorder from the results. Incase the mic does not record even in the recorder it could be bad or have a loose connection. If in warranty call/chat with the Dell technical support. If the warranty has expired consult a local computer guy.

No audio device found

Download Driver Cleaner Pro v.15 from the link. Also, download, and save on your desktop, a clean version of your Sound Card drivers. Run DCPv1.5 and remove all of your audio drivers, plus any possible problem drivers (i.e., if you installed generic drivers to try and get your card to work). After you uninstall, reboot, install your downloaded drivers and reboot again. This should fix your problem, if not please post an update to this thread and I'll continue troubleshooting with you.
