Question about CyberPower 525SL (CPS525SL) UPS System

1 Answer

I have the cyber power 525SL. After a storm the unit tripped. I turned the power back on but it kept tripping. Off and on continuously. How do I know if it's the battery or not. I hate to just throw this unit away. Is there a solution to this problem?

Hi,

This is an internal problem. Most of the UPS have dual system where one part of it works as protector and the other supplies power. As the unit is working fine for few seconds when ON, this confirms that there is an internal failure. There is a problem with the electronic circuitry. It could be a fused cap or other electrical issue with the UPS. Unless you have electrical and electronics repair experience, could read schematics - the unit is not worth repair. The cost of repair on most occasions would be more than the value of the product. At this moment, wise option would be to replace it with a new one.I wish i had a better solution.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Check the power cord on the fridge to make sure it is not broken or frayed. There is an electrical short somewhere. Check the recepticle that is used for the fridge by plugging something else in it, such as a lamp, to see if the receptacle has a short in it.

I had the same issue as Brian, the Niles ZR8630 stays in initializing mode. At first, the unit would not turn on, so opened it and replaced the fuse, power was restored. But now the unit continually stays in INIT mode.
any body has an answer/solution?

Burnt out

internal failure possibly on power side, lower than 300A fault current so unit could not trip i/p protection and as fault was post ac section, continued to burn internally.
it just broke
no breakers tripped out so it kept drawing current until the fault burnt away.

maybe this is what happened, need to know a lot more info to change hypothisis

Unit does not back-up (stay on-line at all) when power goes out.

If the battery is over 3 years old then it most likely needs to be replaced. Since it works fine except for when it is relying on power from the battery, then a new battery should make it just like new. http://www.batteryinternational.com/ups-batteries.html should have the battery you need. Hope that helps.

Cbyer power 525Sl keeps turning off and on and beeps.

I have the exact same issue with my 525SL.
When you push in the red button - the green power light comes on for about 5 seconds = then the light goes out and the device plays a single long beep for about 5-8 seconds.

Given the dialogue here - I took out the battery and bough a brand new BB replacement battery and returned it into the unit as it should. The device continues to have the same behavior.

So it is NOT always a new battery that will fix the system.
Don't jump into spending $30.00 for a replacement.
Look into this further or you'll wind up wasting your money.

(Cyberpower 525SL) not working properly

There is no other known cause of the cycling on/off behavior aside from
a bad battery. IT is possible that some component of the battery relay
or inverter has failed. If this is the case it would not be repairable
outside of warranty.
